1. a) The conflict among social classes under the Conflict Theory

b) The fewer upper class controls majority of scarce resources while

the numerous lower and middle classes control the minority of scarce
resources. This is relevant because people’s chances to survival or
comfort in life can are determined by their social classes. If one’s a
member of the upper class, one has a better chance of surviving and
living a comfortable life.

2. a) Symbolic Interaction is relative

b) Due to different cultures and beliefs, what one culture sees as

sacred may not be viewed the same by another culture. This calls for
respect among different cultures. For instance, as an Igorot, the
playing of the gongs is a very symbolic activity for me while people
of other cultures see it as merely a form of musical performance for
entertainment.

3. a) Solidarity among indigenous people are more often rooted on

their shared experience of discrimination

b) The BLM movement is powered by the unity and solidarity of those

black people who have experienced severe discrimination based on their
race. They come together as one to voice out their frustrations on how
society is treating them. Together, they cry for justice and tell the
world that they do matter.

4. a)The active bigots are the worst

b) Active bigots do not only have strong beliefs that they are
superior over indigenous people, but they also act on their beliefs.
These are the kinds of people who up until now believe that we, people
who are natives of the Cordilleras, have tails growing out of our
backs. These are the kind of people who treat us as less than humans.

5. a) One’s cultural background or ethnicity can be a determining

factor in job perspective

b) There are many cases in real life where people are denied career
opportunities just because of their race or culture. If not, the
opportunities given to these people are less when compared to those
who do not belong to the minority.
