1. Introduction
Rigid pavement (cement concrete) is a pavement construction with aggregate raw
materials and uses cement as the binding material, so that it has a relatively high level of
stiffness, especially when compared to asphalt pavement (flexible pavement), so it is
known and referred to as rigid pavement or rigid pavement.

2. Reference

- Pd T-14-2003 : Cement Concrete Pavement Planning

- Formula See Section 6.2.2 page 29

By definition:
As : area of steel reinforcement (mm2 / m plate width)
fs : allowable tensile strength of reinforcement (MPa). Usually 0.6 times the yield
stress.
g : gravity (m / sec2).
h : thickness of concrete slab (m)
L : distance between untied joints and / or slab free edge (m)
M : weight per unit volume of slab (kg / m3)
μ : coefficient of friction between concrete slab and sub-foundation

3. Cement concrete pavement with reinforcement

The reinforcement required for concrete pavements is longitudinal and transverse
reinforcement.

𝜇.𝐿.𝑀.𝑔.ℎ
𝐴𝑠 = 2.𝑓𝑠

𝐴𝑠 𝑚𝑖𝑛 = 0,1%. ℎ. 1000

𝐴𝑠 𝑚𝑖𝑛 > 𝐴𝑠
ATTACHMENT 1.

Based on the reference of the port road parameters, it is obtained

•H = 30 cm = 0,3 m • Fs = 240 Mpa

•L = 10 m • M = 2400 Kg/m³
•W = 3,5 m • g = 9,81 m/s²
•µ = 1,0

- Longitudinal Reinforcement
1×10×2400×9,81×0,3
𝐴𝑠 = 2×240
= 147,15 𝑚𝑚2 /𝑚
𝐴𝑠 𝑚𝑖𝑛 = 0,1 % × 300 × 1000 = 𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝒎𝒎𝟐 /𝒎 > 𝐴𝑠1 = 147,15 𝑚𝑚2 /𝑚

- transverse reinforcement
1×3,5×2400×9,81×0,3
𝐴𝑠 = 2×240
= 51,5 𝑚𝑚2 /𝑚
𝐴𝑠 𝑚𝑖𝑛 = 0,1 % × 300 × 1000 = 𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝒎𝒎𝟐 /𝒎 > 𝐴𝑠1 = 51,5 𝑚𝑚2 /𝑚

4. Trial M4 dan M6
a. M4
- Area of Circle - Area of Rectangle
= 𝜋 𝑥 𝑟2 =𝑃 ×𝐿
= 3,14 𝑥 22 = 4 × 15
= 12,26 𝑚𝑚2 × 6 = 60 𝑚𝑚2 × 5
= 75,36 𝑚𝑚2 = 300 𝑚𝑚2
- Total
= 75,36 + 300 = 375,36 𝑚𝑚2 > 300 𝑚𝑚2 /𝑚

b. M6
- Area of Circle - Area of Rectangle
= 𝜋 𝑥 𝑟2 =𝑃 ×𝐿
= 3,14 𝑥 32 = 6 × 15
= 28,26 𝑚𝑚2 × 5 = 90 𝑚𝑚2 × 4
= 141,3 𝑚𝑚2 = 360 𝑚𝑚2
- Area of Rectangle
=𝑃 ×𝐿
= 6 × 10
= 60 𝑚𝑚2
- Total
= 141,3 + 360 + 60 = 561,3 𝑚𝑚2 > 300 𝑚𝑚2 /𝑚

5. Conclusion
From the results of the above calculations it is found that The wiremesh needed is 300
mm2/m and the results of the trial on the M4 are 375,36 mm2 /m and the results for M6 are
561,3 mm2/m. Then the most optimal is M4 with a result of 375,36 mm2/m.
