2 PURPOSE
This method statement sets out the works for Side Wall Cladding Sheet ( Colour coated 0.60 BMT)
Fixing for Lime Shed / Coal Shed & corrective Shed .at Ambuja Cement Ltd. Marwar Mundwa . in
planned and systematic manner.

3 SCOPE
To set out the requirement for Method Statement for Side Wall Cladding Sheet ( Colour coated

Description Responsibility
Project Director Shall be responsible for all the project related activity at site and

monitoring them.
Site Manager Shall be responsible for all the project related activities at site.

( MPIL/SC) Shall be responsible for arranging resource for the timely

completion of the scope. To ensure safety compliances & take

lead in emergency rescue plan as Event Manager.

Site Supervisor Shall be available at site to supervise the work with quality, time

(MPIL/SC) & safety.

7.1 Preparation
Before sheeting, all the tasks below must be completed.
1. The Completion Report of mainframes must be approved and signed off by Client.
2. All Purlins & Sag Rods to be fixed.
3. Sheet Bundle to be shifted nearby Roof Sheeting Area. With Farana or manually. r

7.2 Sheet Lifting & Fixing.
1. Working area for Man lift to be inspect & if found uneven to be levelled for safe working of Man
Lift.
2. Man Lift will be get into position.
3. Area will be barricaded.
4. Life Line 12 mm Wire rope will be fixed as per Sketch with Fall Arrester system (Typ1-14 mm
Kernmantle Rope & Typ2 -16 mm Twisted Rope. both will be used). Refer Photo 1 & 2
5. With help of man lift two workers will be fixed manual Pulley on center of the roof for lifting roof
sheet. Nylon Rope approx.16 mm will be fixed in manual pulley for lifting sheet.
6. Three workers will lifted on to Roof with the help of Man Lift to guide sheet.
7. Two support will be anchor on ground to fix nylon rope for supporting sheet while lifting ( refer
Photo-3)
8. Bottom sheet will be lifted first. Sheet bottom & top end will be hook up with Pipe hook to hold the
sheet till lifting desired position.
9. Sheet will be lifted horizontally till it reaches on top then it will be lifted vertically with help of
manual pulley .Two workers on ground will be pull sheet with nylon rope sliding through nylon rope
. ( refer photo 3 & 4)
10. After sheet positioned pulled up to Post pulley sheet top end holding pipe will be released. Sheet will
be lifted with the help of three workers on roof and fix with SDST screw at required location. Rope
Ladder will be used to Grip worker foot on sheet to avoid slippage due to slope Workers on Roof
will anchor their safety harness to Prefix Fall Arrester system & Rope Ladder will be used to Grip
worker foot on sheet to avoid slippage due to slope. After positioning it will be fixed with SDST
screw.

11. After fixing bottom sheet 2nd top sheet will be lifted with same procedure .It will lay above bottom
sheet with 150 mm overlap. And fix with SDST screw o purlin joint. At the same time other end will
be fix on top purlin with SDST screw. Same way third top sheet will be fixed.

12. Side overlap will be fixed with SDST Stitch Screw.

13. Same procedure will repeat for all remaining bottom & top sheets.

14. After completion of one A row sheet fixing D row Sheet will be fixed.

15. Ridge flashing will be fix after each bay roof sheeting.

16. Gutters will be fixed simultaneously with bottom sheet fixing or after each bay completion.

17. Down take pipe will be fixed after Roof sheet & Gutter Fixing,

8.1 First aid

1. First Kit will be placed in our Site office and at erection site which will display the below mentioned
image for easy identification at site.
2. First aid will be given to injured person at the site.
3. The name and contact number of the nominated first aider(s) will be given to all workers to call during
emergency.

8.2 Tool Box Meeting

1. A toolbox meeting will be conducted every day at site to discuss the daily work to be executed.
2. Safety and emergency preparedness will be reminded each day for workers working at a height, to
ensure zero accident at site.
3. All the tools and gears will inspected and checked for any defects at the beginning of the work day.
4. Supervisors will ensure that workers will be using protective gear all the time and there will be no
compromise with this regards.
5. Supervisors will be always at the site to ensure safe work at the height during sheet fixing.

8 QUALITY ASSURANCE
All procedures described in the quality plan for contract shall be followed. Procedures mentioned
there shall also be applicable to all the works described in this method statement.

9 SAFETY MEASURES
The execution of works shall strictly follow the project Safety plan. Workers shall use appropriate
PPEs while working on site. Safety induction should be done by the competent authority prior to
commencement of work to each and every person. All heavy work permit should be issued before
starting of the work. Risk based approach and control measures to be taken to prior to execute the
job. Before the operation all crew must be kept informed of the procedures to be carried out.
