MEAN OF THE SAMPLING DISTRIBUTION OF THE MEANS

1st Quarter; School Year 2020-2021

Asynchronous Task: Compute the mean of the sampling distribution of the sample means.

1.
𝒙̅ 𝑷𝒙̅ 𝒙̅ ∙ 𝑷𝒙̅ Frequency
80.56 0.45 36.252 1
82.32 0.12 9.8784 1
85.45 0.3 25.635 1
90.65 0.13 11.7845 1
̅𝑋̅𝑥̅=36.252 + 9.8784 + 25.635 + 11.7845
̅𝑋̅𝑥̅= 83.5499 or 84

Therefore the mean of the sampling distribution of the sample mean is 84 2.

𝒙̅ 𝑷𝒙̅ 𝒙̅ ∙ 𝑷𝒙̅ Frequency
2.17 0.11 0.2387 1
5.89 0.23 1.3547 1
9.10 0.52 4.732 1
6.87 0.13 0.8931 1
̅𝑋̅𝑥̅=0.2387 + 1.3547 + 4.732 + 0.8931
̅𝑋̅𝑥̅= 7.2185 or 7

Therefore the mean of the sampling distribution of the sample mean is 7

1.) Compare the process in computing the mean of the sampling distribution of the
sample means from the process in computing the mean of the population (common
computation of the mean).
(𝚺 𝑿𝒊)
𝝁= This is the process of computing for the mean of the population, where 𝝁
𝑵
represent the population, (𝚺 𝑿𝒊) represents the sum of all scores present in the
sample and “N” represent the total numbers of individuals in the population.
𝒙̅ = ( 𝚺 𝑿𝒊)
This is the process of computing the mean of the sampling
distribution
𝒏
of the sample means. The term “𝑿̅” it represent the sample means “𝚺 𝑿𝒊”
represent the sum of all scores present in the sample and “n” represents the total
number of individual or observations in the sample.
2.) Is there a difference between the mean of the population and the mean of
sampling of the sampling distribution of the sample means?
The Difference is Sample mean is the average score of average score of sample
on a given variable while the population mean is score of the population on a
given variable.
