About Her Eating Disorders

 “ehh”
 Change in pitch “to anorexia” higher pitch –
emphasis.
 “Sss” release of air, then laugh “hahaha” after
“And it was.”
 “Errm” when deep in thought.
 Lip smacking – after “In eating disorder land
you never ermm.”
 Laughs while speaking “ you failed at
anorexia” and “that’s kinda how it goes.” On
the words “anorexia” and “goes” - releases air
(laughing) while speaking.
 Performative pretends to be someone
changes tone, judgemental, higher pitch and
“uhh” dramatic noise. “oh my god you’re taking
a crostini!”
 Extended words elongated “feel” thinking and
emphasising certain words by stretching out
the sound.
 Quality of speech can sometimes be very
monotone and direct, other times sentences
are broken by “ermm” “err” and “uhh.”
 Pitch often goes downwards at the end of the
sentence, to signify the end of her point or
humorously such as the line “this going to be
great.”
 Tempo of the speech is typically fairly fast and
quickens in moments when Jennette is
particularly passionate or trying to explain.
