PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 31
I hereby give notice of the following orders, which were
made pursuant to section 69(1)(c) of the Public Health
Act 1935 for the protection of public health and publicly
announced on 23 April 2021—
1. Any driver of a public service vehicle, or passenger
in a public service vehicle who is 5 years of age or
older, must wear a face covering in the proper manner
while driving or travelling in the public service
vehicle, with effect from 24 April 2021;
2. Any driver of an omnibus must ensure that all the
passengers in the omnibus are physically distanced
from each other, with effect from 24 April 2021;
3. Any driver of a minibus must ensure that all the
passengers in the minibus are physically distanced
from each other, with effect from 24 April 2021; and
4. Any business in Fiji must require its employees, and
customers who are 5 years of age or older, to wear
face coverings in the proper manner in order to enter
the premises of the business, with effect from 24
April 2021.
For the purposes of these orders—
“face covering” means a face covering with at least 2
layers of material covering the nose and mouth of
a person, which is secured by being tied around
the person’s ears or head or looped around the
person’s ears but does not include a face shield,
face visor, scarf, ski mask, balaclava, bandana,
turtleneck collar pulled up over the mouth and
nose or face mask with slits, valves or punctures;
“minibus” has the same meaning given in section 2
of the Land Transport Act 1998;
“omnibus” has the same meaning given in section 2
of the Land Transport Act 1998; and
“public service vehicle” has the same meaning given
in section 2 of the Land Transport Act 1998.

PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 32
I hereby give notice of the following orders, which were
made pursuant to section 69(1)(c) of the Public Health
Act 1935 for the protection of public health and publicly
announced on 25 April 2021—
1. The order publicly announced on 20 April 2021
and published in Gazette Notice No. 509 of 2021
in relation to the closure of businesses that are
not essential businesses in the Nadi and Lautoka
Containment Area is rescinded, with effect from 4
am on 26 April 2021;
2. The orders publicly announced on 23 April 2021 in
relation to the physical distancing of passengers in
omnibuses and minibuses are rescinded, with effect
from 4 am on 26 April 2021;
3. Any business in a containment zone that is not an
essential business must close, with effect from 4 am
on 26 April 2021;
4. Any owner of a public service vehicle in a
containment zone must ensure that the public service
vehicle only operates within the containment zone,
with effect from 4 am on 26 April 2021; and
5. Any driver of a public service vehicle must limit the
passenger capacity of the public service vehicle to
50 percent, with effect from 4 am on 26 April 2021.
For the purposes of these orders—
“containment zone” means a containment zone
specified in the Schedule;
“essential business” means an essential service
and industry as provided for in section 185 of
the Employment Relations Act 2007, banks,
insurance businesses, supermarkets, local
produce markets, shops selling groceries, food
and sanitary manufacturing plants, garbage
collection services, sewerage services, private
security services, roading services, port services
and any other business declared essential by the
Minister for Health and Medical Services; and
“public service vehicle” has the same meaning given
in section 2 of the Land Transport Act 1998.

the Suva-Nadi Highway following an East-South-East

direction to the junction of Nausori Highland Road and
the road to Waiwai Settlement;
From the junction of Nausori Highland Road and the
road to Waiwai Settlement following a North-North-East
direction to the headwater of Davetalevu Creek;
From Davetalevu Creek following a West direction to
Lomolomo Police Post;

I hereby give notice of the following orders, which were
made pursuant to section 69(3) of the Public Health Act 1935
for the protection of public health, approved by the Minister
for Health and Medical Services and publicly announced on
25 April 2021—
1. The orders publicly announced on 19 April 2021
and published in Gazette Notice No. 508 of 2021 in
relation to entering or leaving the Nadi and Lautoka
Containment Area are rescinded, with effect from 4
am on 26 April 2021;
2. The order publicly announced on 20 April 2021
and published in Gazette Notice No. 510 of 2021
in relation to travel within the Nadi and Lautoka
Containment Area is rescinded, with effect from 4
am on 26 April 2021;
3. Any person in a containment zone must not leave the
containment zone, with effect from 4 am on 26 April
2021, unless authorised by the Permanent Secretary
for Health and Medical Services;
4. Any person outside a containment zone must not
enter the containment zone, with effect from 4 am on
26 April 2021, unless authorised by the Permanent
Secretary for Health and Medical Services; and
5. Any person in a containment zone may only travel
within the containment zone for the purposes of
employment, accessing a service provided by an
essential business, or an emergency.
