Traction MAHLE traction motors are available in
various designs for optimal packaging
and cover a performance range of up to
motors 250 kilowatts. Our portfolio includes low-
and high-voltage asynchronous induction
motors as well as interior permanent ma-
gnet (IPM) synchronous motors, which
can be designed with three or six pha-
ses and are liquid or forced-air cooled,
depending on the application and power
requirements.

Drive System
Great emphasis has been placed on
designing motors with fewer parts to
decrease their complexity and cost while
increasing robustness. Individual compo-
nents of the MAHLE high-voltage electric
drive systems, such as stators, rotors,
and electric controllers, can be designed
to meet customer demands, fitting their
specific powertrain architecture. Other
units include highly integrated gearbo-
xes for a lightweight and sturdy system
design.
