GET TO KNOW ME
I am a very well-rounded individual with experience in dance, music, sport and service. I am a hardworking
and optimistic person who loves the outdoors, and enjoys camping, hiking, and water sports. I have been
part of various choirs, music ensembles and have played the flute for over 14
years. My sporting background lies in netball, and swimming where my most recent achievement was the
Rottnest Channel Swim Crossing in 2014, 2015, and 2020. I love to travel and spent time studying in Oregon,
USA, and taken two trips to the Marshall Islands assisting with surfing charters and reef shark conservation.
These experiences have given me life skills and knowledge that I hope to bring to the classroom and share
with students.
In time, it is my hope to become a lead teacher with vast knowledge in multiple subjects and to be a role
model for students and colleagues alike. I am organized with good time management skills. I am a good
communicator and am systematic in my approach to teaching and learning. I am reliable and consistent in
my work ethic and value working as a team

My role as a swimming instructor include management of a class size between one to ten students both in
and out of the water at swimming pools and the beach, organization and planning of lessons following
different curriculums, and communication with parents/ guardians and supervisors regarding the progress
of students. Age levels taught range between 3 years to adult classes. I have also had experience in special
needs swimming education where I have worked with students who require one-on-one lessons and
instruction. I have had the opportunity to work in a supervising role where my responsibilities included
managing concerns of families, enrolling students and inputting student progress into computer systems. I
have been involved in multiple professional development opportunities focussing on swimming skill
development, communication and relationships with parents, and helping students with transition phases.
This has been valuable in my learning as a teacher and in my understanding of the importance of education
beyond content or skills.

Byford Secondary College (2019) - Byford Secondary College was my first experience in public education and
challenged me to develop new strategies for teaching and learning that accommodated classes that required
extensive considerations for behaviour management. I had the opportunity to co-teach with another pre-
service teacher in the writing and running of a year 7 economics project over a two-week period. This project
incorporated aspects of theory that could be put into practice including assessment and rubric writing, well
scaffolded student-led learning and the organisation of a project across a whole year level.
Kolbe Catholic College (2020) - My most recent practicum experience at Kolbe Catholic College further
extended my level of responsibility within a team and as a classroom teacher. I attended the annual athletics
carnival and participated in professional development seminars regarding the use of different online
platforms and teaching strategies. I participated in moderation with my mentor teachers, assumed full
responsibility of five classes in the disciplines of HASS and Religious Education (years 8-10), and worked
alongside multiple teaching staff in planning and delivery of content.
In 2019, I was involved in a volunteer program with CBC Fremantle, mentoring students in a Future Skills
Learning Project that gave me the opportunity to work with students in a creative environment. This
experience has developed my pastoral care skills in inspiring students to reach their full potential as
individuals and serving members of the wider community; a value that I understand St Luke’s College holds
in their vision of education.
My responsibilities as a pool attendant included managing chemical levels in a public aquatic facility,
inputting data into computer systems and managing my own responsibilities as part of a team. This role
developed my time management skills, ability to work independently and my communication skills regarding
the health and safety of colleagues, clients and members of the facility.
