Note
The "door switch" and "external exposure switch" options must be connected to
terminal X1 on the wall adapter board!

With the wall adapter kit Mat. No. 1.003.1574, you can install the KaVo In eXam
operating unit in a separate location to the X-ray machine; e.g. outside of the X-ray
room.
You can also connect a separate exposure switch here.

1.2 Wall adapter installation

1.2.1 Installation of wall adapter line

▶ Run the wall adapter line Mat. No. 1.003.3876 from In eXam to the wall adapter.
Ideally, you should use a locally laid conduit for this.
The fully assembled side must face the X-ray machine; the end that has been cut
must face the wall adapter.

1.2.2 Connect line to In eXam

▶ Fix the line on the In eXam wall mounting plate and fit connector onto base J5.

1.2.3 Wall adapter holding plate installation

▶ Using the M3x25 allen screws, pre-assemble holding plate and casing.

▶ Decide upon the wall adapter's final position and mark out the mounting points.
The wall adapter line must be passed through the hole in the holding plate!
▶ Drill appropriately sized holes in the wall - e.g. 6mm if pins are being used, approx.
2.5mm if not.
▶ Screw the holding plate and casing onto the previously drilled holes.
▶ Detach casing again using the M3x25 allen screws

1.2.4 Connect line to wall adapter

Requirement
Make sure that the wall adapter line is completely laid; pass it through the holding
plate.

▶ Cut wall adapter line to an excess length of 200mm approx.

▶ Remove a short part of the line sheath using the holding plate.
▶ Pull wire out of braid.
▶ Twist the braid, isolating if necessary
▶ Using spacers and the M3x14 screws, mount the wall box board on the holding
plate.

▶ Cut the wire to the required length, strip and connect to terminal strip X2 in ac‐
cordance with the table.

1.2.5 Complete the wall adapter housing

▶ Open the operating unit casing by unscrewing the 2 screws on the rear.
You will need these 2 screws later.

▶ Disconnect the helix cable from the board.

This is no longer required.

▶ Connect the internal wall adapter line Mat. No. 1.003.4310 to the timer board,
base J1

▶ Enter the timer board serial number ①.

▶ Enter the timer board material number ②.

▶ Stick label on casing.

▶ Attach the top cover onto the wall adapter casing and pass the line through to the
rear.

▶ Screw down the top cover and casing from the rear.
You can use the screws from the original operating unit.

1.2.6 Wall adapter final assembly

▶ Insert the free end of the internal wall adapter line into the wall adapter board.

▶ Attach the casing with control panel onto the wall adapter holding plate

▶ Using 2 M3x25 allen screws, fix casing on holding plate from below

▶ Then perform a function test (as described in the "Safety checks") and close all
claddings and coverings again.
