COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course provides training for the 365C and 385C Hydraulic Excavators. Systems operation of the hydraulic pump groups,
hydraulic control valves, implement/travel and swing circuits are included. Operation of the Machine Control Module, monitor panel,
electronic implement controls and electro-hydraulic actuators are also covered.

PREREQUISITES

This course covers the differences between B-Series and the New C-Series Large Excavators. Students should have attended
B-Series Large Excavator class. Good working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems on Caterpillar Excavator.
These prerequisites courses should be completed prior to participating in this course :

- Self study of “Fundamentals of Mobile Hydraulics”..................... TEMV9001

- Self study of “Fundamentals of Electricity” ................................. TEMV9002

SKILL TAUGHT/Student should be able to

Identify the major components of the machines.

Test Engine Performances
Test and adjust Main Pump system margin pressure
Test and adjust Main Pump (De stroke pressure)
Test and adjust signal limiter pressures for the implement, travel and heavy lift circuits.
Test and adjust the implement, swing and travel circuits.
Check all electronic inputs and outputs using the electronic monitor panel on the machine.
Demonstrate how to perform calibration procedures including:
- all levers and pedals
- proportional solenoid valves
- engine throttle dial
- power shift pressure
- joystick GAIN/RESPONSE settings
