Civic Engagement

Throughout my freshman year at Delaware State, I was unable to do most student

activities. I am a commute student, so I did not stay on campus. Due to strict rules, I was unable
to get on to campus. I could not join any clubs. I recently moved so I work a lot to pay for
everything. I spend most of my time at work 6 days a week. I have never been involved in
sports, and I am not religious. I did not volunteer anywhere. I was never aware this would be a
part of my grade. I do not play an active role at school due to a pandemic, so I didn’t that would
be held against me. I am just a working student, I do not under5stand how I am supposed to
make this 1-2 pages and I do not see it as “fair”. I try my hardest to keep afloat and I apologize
for not making time for the community. I feel as though during these times, it was safer that I
didn’t.
