TRAILER CHASSIS

LEVELING VALVE
PRODUCT FACTSHEET

PRODUCT INFORMATION

The chassis leveling valve for trailers

with conventionally controlled air
suspension is available in composite
material now.

Leveling valves are used to control the

suspension in air-sprung vehicles. They
sensitively control the compressed air of
the air suspension bellows as a ratio of
the vehicle’s load.

The system is available for all types

of trailers. Two function variants will
be available in two formats: basic and
height limitation in single and dual circuit
design.

Basic composite leveling valve with linkage

BENEFITS

• Weight reduction of 20% compared to aluminum variant

• Eliminating potential contact corrosion of aluminum

material

• Integrated push-to-connect (PTC) fittings

• Integrated t-connector for height limitation variant

FURTHER DETAIL

• Based on a tried and proven operating principle

• All new composite valves are based on the existing parts used for the aluminum variant
• Precision control with height limitation variant helps to reduce stress by limiting the air bellows stroke
• Both supply & delivery (bellow) ports include integrated air filters
• No problems with contact corrosion unlike with aluminum housings
• Robust with tensile strength comparable to aluminum
• Reduced weight and environmental-friendly
• New generation of leveling valve is 100% backwards compatible with same port locations, interfaces
and mounting scheme

INSTALLATION

The valve is mounted vertically with the exhaust port facing downwards. The valve is attached to the
chassis by two M8 screws. It is recommended to fit a line filter between the reservoir and the inlet to the
valve.

To simplify the installation, the operating lever can be ‘locked’ into its neutral position by means of a pin. A
visual check is also possible by means of the mark on the end of the regulating spindle.

AIR FLOW PERFORMANCE

WABCO‘s composite leveling valve comes with the

same air flow performance as the aluminum device.
The efficient air flow permits fast filling of large air
bellows. Additionally, the new generation reduces
air consumption by limiting the air flow at small
horizontal deviations.
It helps to avoid a ”pumping up effect” as the air is
vented faster than it is filled.
