SAPPHIRE PLAYLISTS – MC1

Log/Playlist Procedure:
Group 1 Logs auto-load in MC1. Group 2 Logs must be manually loaded before air
(instructions below). Original logs can be found at \\XE-8\Schdata\Station Call Letters - .asy
files are for Sapphire, .sch files are for checks at Prep. Only Group 1 stations have .sch files.

1. Check to make sure the log properly loaded on the Sapphire computer in MC 1 and the
complete log is loaded 5a til 5a for Group 1. This is especially important on Fridays (for
Saturday through Monday logs). For Group 2, logs should reflect the time, content and length
of breakaway programming found on the program grids.

2. Check for missing Media. Check to make sure it is in the Nexio and use Sapphire Transfer
on Links to transfer spots. If Sapphire Transfer fails to transfer spots, contact a supervisor.

3. Sign Log sheet

All Sapphire playlists should be able to hold 3 full days’ logs. Any more than that, the logs will
be placed in the Sapphire Temp folder on the Traffic Xfer PC. On Holidays only - once room is
available, they can be dropped into their respective folders for autoload. All other instances,
use manually loading instructions.

Manually Loading Playlists - MC1 Sapphire PC:


1. Open Filezilla
2. Using the pulldown menu choose Logs_Sapphire A
3. On left part of screen find folder of station you are looking for
4. Click on desired station folder and find .asy file needed
5. Click and drag .asy into matching station folder on the right
6. Confirm log has loaded. Repeat for B using Logs_Sapphire B on pulldown menu
WWME - METV Chicago – MC1 (XE-1/XE-2)

Logs can be found at \\XE-7\SCHDATA\WWMEMMDDYYYY.tml

Untranslated logs can be found at \\XE-8\Schdata\WWME\WWMEMMDDYYYY.SCH

1. Spot check the log for :05 METV switcher lines and that manual events are placed after.

2. Check for random manual events at the start of the log, change to sequenced event.

3. Check for proper break structure – 2 min, 2 min, 1 min. Make sure the log goes from 5a-5a.

TIMING PROCEDURE:

Check at the top of each hour to make sure the playlist is on time.

4. Take a missing cart list. Fix any issues on missing list. Extend kill dates, track down
missing CM’s, promos etc.

Normal Missing Media: NONE

5. GPI’s or CG’S- NONE - There are no active CG/GPI events on this log.

6. Type EAS in the search box located at the top of the editor and search for EAS Tests. If you
find one, add a label line before the event on the log and place a post-it note on the grid
indicating when the test is logged.

Sunday Break-away Programming:


Change the first event of the day at 05:00 to a timed event at 05:00:24.00.
Adjust the local block of programming as needed to return to network at 08:00:24.00.

7. Save log. Copy log to XE-1, XE-2, XE-5, XE-7, XE-9, Sign Log sheet, bring grid into MC1.

HCIU - MeTV+ Chicago/Phoenix – LOCATED IN MC1 (XE-1/XE-2)


Logs can be found at \\XE-7\SCHDATA\HCIUMMDDYYYY.tml

Untranslated logs can be found at\\XE-8\Schdata\HCIU\HCIUMMDDYYYY.SCH

1. Click through the entire playlist to update segment times.

2. Check for random manual events at the start of the log, change to sequenced event.

3. Make sure the log goes from 5a-5a.


TIMING PROCEDURE:

Check at the top of each hour to make sure the playlist is on time. Time may need to be
adjusted for the 2 hour Comedy Classics block airing M-F at midnight. Adjust promos/last
segment so Lost In Space starts at 02:00:00. On Sunday, time may need to be adjusted for
the 3 hour Sunday Night Cartoon block airing at 1900. Adjust promos/last segment so Wild
Wild West starts on time at 22:00:00.

4. Take a missing cart list. Fix any issues on missing list. Extend kill dates, track down
missing CM’s, promos etc.

Normal Missing Media: NONE

5. GPI’s or CG’S- There are no CG events on this log. Check that GPI events are attached to
Program segments, not commercial breaks. Program segments will contain a GPO-1 normal
enable 3 frame start offset, 2 sec end offset. There are no Squeezebacks on this station.

6. Type EAS in the search box located at the top of the editor and search for EAS Tests. If you
find one, add a label line before the event on the log and place a post-it note on the grid
indicating when the test is logged.

7. Save log. Copy log to XE-1, XE-2, XE-5, XE-7, XE-9, Sign Log sheet, bring grid into MC1.

WMEU - The U - Chicago – LOCATED IN MC1 (XE1/XE2)

Logs can be found at \\XE-7\SCHDATA\WMEUMMDDYYYY.tml

Untranslated logs can be found at \\XE-8\Schdata\WMEU\WMEUMMDDYYYY.SCH

1. Click through the entire playlist to update segment times.

2. Check for random manual events at the start of the log, change to sequenced event.

3. Make sure the log goes from 5a-5a. Scan the log making sure each program starts and
ends on time +/- 5 seconds.

TIMING PROCEDURE:

Check top of each hour to make sure the playlist is on time (+/- 5 seconds). If log is short or
over, change promos or PSA’s to keep log running on time. PSA’s should not be added to the
log for fill between the hours of 5a-midnight.
4. GPI’s or CG’S- GPI’s and CG’s - Check that CG & GPI events are attached to Program
segments, not barter. Check for generic CG1000/1100 placed on program segments. There
are no Squeezebacks on this station.

5. Live Events - confirm they are valid sources, and/or check satellite sheet

6. Go back to top of log and take a missing cart list. Fix any issues on missing list -- Extend
kill dates, track down missing CM’s, promos and programming etc.

Normal Missing Media Weekday:

Dr. Phil Barter (DP), Tamron Hall (TAMRON), Law & Crime Daily (LAWCD) & Right This Minute
(RM).

Normal Missing Media Saturday:

Celebrity Page (CP).

Things Traffic does/Oddities:

Dr. Phil’s barters are correct run, program is 1 week delay.

WCIU - The CW26 - Chicago – LOCATED IN MC1 (XE1/XE2)

1. Click through the entire playlist to update segment times.

2. Check for random manual events at the start of the log, change to sequenced event.

3. Make sure the log goes from 5a-5a. Scan the log making sure each program starts and
ends on time +/- 5 seconds.

TIMING PROCEDURE:

Check to make sure programs start on time (+/-5 seconds). If log is short or over, change
promos or PSA’s to keep log running on time. PSA’s should not be added to the log for fill
between the hours of 5a-midnight.

Off-the-clock: Many shows on WCIU DO NOT start at the top of the hour. If you're not sure,
double check the hit times against the pdf.

Make sure CW Prime starts on time at 19:00 and that CWHD prime events are sequenced
duration events that run from exactly 19:00:00 to 20:59:50.

TIMING PROCEDURE For Saturday:

On Saturday, the log should hit Kids CW on time at 08:00 CT. American Ninja Warrior at 11:00
CT should be set as a timed event.

4. CWHD prime events should have a CG1001 on the first segment of each hour (1900 and
2000). These are the legal IDs for the hours and should have a 1-second offset present.
Check the offset for the CWipe in the 2000 program. Do not move or remove if present. MC
op will confirm offset once final Network log is in.

5. GPI’s or CG’S- CG’s - There are no active GPI events on this log. CGs should be attached
to program segments, not barter.

6. SqueezeBacks - start at 08:00 and run throughout the day until 00:30a. No squeezeback in
the 13:00 run of Springer or the 18:30p run of Mike and Molly. Change the start offset of
squeezeback CG events (1800s) located in the last segment of programs to the segment
duration on the playlist MINUS :30. Check all final segments and only change those that are
1800 events. Do not assume all programs will have squeezebacks.

7. Live Events - confirm they are valid sources, and/or check satellite sheet.

8. Go back to top of log and take a missing cart list. Fix any issues on missing list -- Extend
kill dates, track down missing CM’s, promos and programming etc.

9. Type EAS in the search box located at the top of the editor and search for EAS Tests. If you
find one, add a label line before the event on the log and place a post-it note on the grid
indicating when the test is logged
10 Save log. Copy log to XE-1, XE-2, XE-5, XE-7, XE-9. Sign Log sheet, and bring Log
packet into MC1.

WJLP - METV New York/New Jersey – MC1 (XE-3/XE-4)

1. Spot check the log for :05 METV switcher lines for regular programming and that manual
events are placed after them (for placeholder breaks, news promos or child-file promos)..

2. Check for random manual events at the start of the log, change to sequenced event.

3. Check for proper break structure – 2 min, 30 sec news insert, 2 min, 1 min. Monday through
Friday 6a-6p, 2 min, 2 min, 1 min all other hours except no breaks Sundays 7a-9a. Make sure
the log goes from 5a-5a.

4. Take a missing cart list. Fix any issues on missing list.

Normal Missing Media Weekday:

All next-day news promos NPx06-NPx17. There should be no missing media on weekends.

5. GPI’s or CG’S- NONE - There are no active CG/GPI events on this log.

6. Save log. Copy log to XE-3, XE-4, XE-5, XE-7, XE-9, Sign Log sheet.

WMYS - MyNet South Bend – LOCATED IN MC1 (XE-3, XE-4)

1. Click through the entire playlist to update segment times.

2. Check for random manual events at the start of the log, change to sequenced event.

3. Make sure the log goes from 5a-5a. Scan the log making sure each program starts and
ends on time +/-5 seconds.

TIMING PROCEDURE:

Check to make sure programs start on time (+/-5 seconds). If log is short or over, change
promos or PSA’s to keep log running on time. PSA’s should not be added to the log for fill
between the hours of 5a-midnight.
Make sure ‘TMZ Live’ starts at 15:00:01 and is logged as :05 FS60HD switcher line. All breaks
except the end break should be set as Manual events. Set the end break of ‘TMZ Live’ as a
timed event for 15:58:33.

4. GPI’s or CG’S- GPI’s and CG’s - Check that CG & GPI events are attached to Program
segments, not barter. If there is live sports, a GPI will be logged where a bug is needed.
Check for generic CG1000/1100 on program segments. There are no Squeezebacks on this
station.

Program segments of TMZ LIVE will contain a GPO-6 single momentary .01 frame start offset.

5. TMZ Live - TMZ Live events are set as :05 ‘FS60HD’ switcher events with manual events
after. Each switcher line will have a GPO-6 attached.

6. Live Events - confirm they are valid sources, and/or check satellite sheet.

7. Go back to top of log and take a missing cart list. Fix any issues on missing list -- Extend
kill dates, track down missing CM’s, promos and programming etc.

Normal Missing Media Weekday:

Shepherds Chapel - Will be logged as VTR - change to SHEP+MMDD (tomorrow’s date). Put
in duration of 58:30 to keep log on time, Wendy Williams (WW), Extra (EXTR), The Real Day
Delay (REALDD), TMZ (TMZ), Mom (MOM), Mike and Molly (MIMO) Right This Minute (RM),
Dish Nation (DN), Dr. Oz (OZ), The Doctors (DR), South Bend News Teases, WX Teases and
pre-fed My Network programming.

8. Type EAS in the search box located at the top of the editor and search for EAS Tests. If you
find one, add a label line before the event on the log and place a post-it note on the grid
indicating when the test is logged.

9. Save log. Copy log to XE-3, XE-4, XE-5, XE-7, XE-9. Sign Log sheet, and bring Log packet
into MC1.

WCWW- CW South Bend – LOCATED IN MC1 (XE-3, XE-4)

1. Click through the entire log to update times.

Check that log is hitting ABC57 News on CW25 at 07:00 and that is set as a NEWS switcher
line. Set timed events for the following:

● In the 0700 half hour, local break 3 should be a timed event for 07:22:00. The NEWS
Brief switcher line should be a sequenced event hitting at 07:23:00. The Cut In Local
Break should be a timed event for 07:24:00. The NEWS Brief switcher line should be a
sequenced event hitting at 7:26:00. Local Break 4 should be a timed event for 7:27:01
and should sequence into the NEWS switcher line at 07:29:31.
● In the 0730 half hour, local break 7 should be a timed event for 07:54:11. The NEWS
News Brief switcher line should be a sequenced event hitting at 07:55:56. Local break
8 should be set as a timed event for 07:58:12.
● In the 0800 half hour, local break 11 should be a timed event for 08:25:00. The NEWS
News Brief switcher line should be a sequenced event hitting at 08:27:00. Local break
12 should be a timed event for 08:29:01.
● In the 0830 half hour, local break 15 should be a timed event for 08:54:41. The NEWS
News Brief switcher line should be a sequenced event hitting at 08:56:41. Local break
16 should be set as a timed event for 08:58:41.
● Change the ID at the end of the news to a timed event at 22:29:55.

4. Check that log is hitting network prime programming on time at 20:00 ET. Make sure
network and local hit times are set to match the network feed sheets found in the packet. CW
Prime should be logged as sequenced duration events that run from 20:00:00 to 21:59:50.

5. Check that the NEWS switcher line AFTER prime starts at 21:59:50 ET. Check that the
News segments are logged as :05 NEWS switcher lines with manual breaks.

to following times:

● In the 0700 half hour, the WX switcher line should be set as a manual event. The
NEWS Brief switcher line should be a timed event set for 7:23:00. The first Local Break
should be a timed event for 07:24:00. The NEWS Brief switcher line should be a
sequenced event hitting at 7:26:00. The second local break should be a timed event set
for 7:27:01 and should sequence into the ABC switcher line at 07:28:31.
● In the 0730 half hour, the NEWS News Brief switcher line should be ahe NEWS News
Brief switcher line should be a timed eve timed event set for 07:55:56. The last local
break of the half hour should be set as a timed event for 07:58:12.
● In the 0800 half hour, the WX switcher line should be set as a manual event. Tnt set for
08:27:01. The local break of the half hour should be set as a timed event for 08:29:01.
● In the 0830 half hour, the NEWS News Brief switcher line should be set as a timed
event for 08:56:41. The last local break of GMA should be set as a timed event for
08:58:42.
Change the duration on NEWS switcher line at 13:00:10 during ‘GMA3’ to 2:00

● Change the NEWS Switcher Line at 13:00:10 during ‘GMA3’ to a timed event for
13:25:59.
● Change the manual event on the local break at 13:27:58 to a sequenced event.

Check that the ABC57 News segments are logged as :05 NEWS switcher lines. All other
breaks during the newscasts/news briefs should be set as manual events, with the exceptions
listed below. The GMA3 2:00 local cutaway should be set as a timed event for 13:25:58. The
ABC57 News at 5 hits at 16:58:30.

4. GPI’s or CG’S- CG’s - There are no active GPI events on this log. CGs should be attached
to program segments, not barter. Check for generic CG1000/1100 program segments. There
are no Squeezebacks on this station.

SATURDAY ABC57 NEWS1/ABCHD Network Timed Events (all times EASTERN)

● We hot punch the the live WX GMA :30 and :15 Cutaways for both the 0800 & 0900
hours. Change the ABC57 WX :30 and the ABC57 WX :15 hits to manual events during
both the 0800 and 0900 hours. Change both the ABCHD return to network lines logged
right after the WX hits to manual events.
● The 8a GMA Local Break 1 needs to be changed to a timed event for 08:26:30. This
will sequence into the 1 min Live WX which will hit at 08:27:30.
● The mid/local break after the 1min WX shoulded event for be changed to a timed event
for 08:28:30.
● The 8a GMA 2 min WX Cutaway should be changed to a tim 08:56:26.
● The end/local break after the 2 min WX should be changed to a timed event for
08:58:26.
● The 9a GMA Local Break 2 needs to be changed to a timed event for 09:25:30. This
will sequence into the 1 min Live WX which will hit at 09:27:30.
● The mid/local break after the 1min WX should be changed to a timed event for
09:28:30.
● The 9a GMA 2 min WX Cutaway should be changed to a timed event for 09:56:26.

● If there is no end break following live Network afternoon programming, the NEWS

● We hot punch the the live WX GMA :30 and :15 Cutaways. Change the ABC57 WX :30
and the ABC57 WX :15 hits to a manual events during the 0800 and 0830 hours.
Change both the ABCHD return to network lines logged right after the WX hits to
manual events.
● The GMA Local Break 1 needs to be changed to a timed event for 08:26:30. This will
sequence into the 1min Live WX which will hit at 08:27:30.
● The Mid/local break after the 1min WX should be changed to a timed event for
08:28:30.
● The GMA 2 min WX Cutaway should be changed to a timed event for 08:56:26.
● The end/local break after the 2min WX should be changed to a timed event for
08:58:28.
● If there is no end break following live Network afternoon programming, the NEWS
