lipids. Which is contain 3 long chain of fatty acid esterified to single glycerol.
Triacylglycerols are non-polar, hydrophobic molecules that is imperatively insoluble in water.
How it provides stored energy and insulation.
Triacylglycerols located under the skin that function as insulation and energy sources.
Triacylglycerols is a sources of energy stored. Oxidation of triacylglycerols provide more than
twice energy.
Triacylglycerols in eukaryotic cell form a separate phase of oily droplets in aqueous cytosol that
use in metabolic fuel.

Triacylglycerols provide energy and insulation by following ways:

 Adipocytes and seed germinating
 Humans
 Animals
Adipocytes and seed germinating
Adipocytes are vertebrates cell which store large amount of triacylglycerols as fat droplets that
fill the cell. We can also get energy from plant because triacylglycerols are also stored in seed of
many types of plant as oil. In this way it provide energy during seed germination.
Adipocytes and seed germinating seeds have lipases which catalyze the hydrolysis of stored C
and release fatty acid and used at required site as fuel.
Humans:
Humans are also have fat tissues under the skin, in abdominal cavity and in the mammary glands.
The normal obese people can used their fats to fulfill their energy needs because the obese
people deposit their triacylglycerols in adipocytes. So obese people can use their stored energy
for a month.
But during a day a human body can collect minimum energy and supply in the form of glycogen.
Carbohydrates like glucose and glycogen give quick sources of metabolic energy.
Animals:
Animals stored and attend the energy also insulation but at low temperature. In the animal
triacylglycerols stored under the skin. And few animals having a lot fat like hibernating animals

so before hibernation attend the double purposes of insulation and energy storing because they
have need more energy due to change of atmosphere.
According to the atmosphere and environment they have different need and requirements.
