Twelve Angry Men by Reginold Rose :

The Confession

Writing Assignment Directions:

 You are going to create a 1st person letter of confession from the person who really
committed the crime described in Twelve Angry Men.
 You can develop a new character that was not in the play or perhaps the defendant DID
commit the crime.
 You MUST use at least FIVE specific details from the play and UNDERLINE each detail
within your letter of confession.
 Make sure to provide the following information somewhere in your confession:

1. What is the name of the person confessing?

2. What is the relationship of the victim to the person confessing?

3. Describe background information about the confessor's life, such as age, occupation,
family life, education, current living situation.

4. According to the person confessing to the crime, describe what happened the day the
crime took place.

5. According to the person confessing, was the crime voluntary manslaughter, involuntary
manslaughter or murder?

6. Explain in detail the motive of the person confessing.

7. Where is this person now?

8. How does he/she feel about the crime that he/she committed?

9. Who is this person confessing to and why?

10. What does the person plan do to after sending this letter of confession?
