Students will be able to…determine the devastating effects of the Trail of Tears
Objectives and identify key figures and places.

I can identify how Indigenous people were treated by Americans during the

Materials
Students will watch a 3 minute video on the Trail of Tears titled Trail of Tears
for Kids Documentary. Video includes everything students need to know on the
Introduction/Hook Trail of Tears event. Students will then use their critical thinking skills and
briefly answer a question involving the American Indians

1. 45 minute long presentation on the devastating effects of Trail of Tears.


Instructional 2. Presentation highlights key figures and events that took place during that
Activities & time. Presentation adds on to a 3 minute video (Trail of Tears for Kids
Documentary) and gives more in depth details on the event.

Students will participate in a Blooket reviewing the information on the Trail of
Closure Activity Tears provided by the 45 minute long presentation
