The Magiqair climate system is a revolutionary system in coolant. For heating the engine increases the

air blown into the coach to get a climate change as
comfortable as possible for the passengers.
• The control is integrated in the advanced CAN-
system.
• The driver can change the settings of the system with
the buttons on the steering wheel.
• All air-conditioning parts that involve refrigerant are
fitted in one unit: the Aquaclime-unit. Because of this
construction the amount of refrigerant in the system
is decreased and the serviceability is improved.
• A coolant circuit that also includes the engine cooling
takes care of the heat exchange. For cooling the
Aquaclime-unit lowers the temperature of the

The passenger compartment
The front underfloor heater and the rear underfloor
heater are the heat exchangers that are only used for
heating. The roof-units are the heat exchangers that are
used for heating and cooling.
The software uses a general air outlet temperature for
the passenger compartment. Standard temperature is
23°C. The driver can set this temperature between 18°C
and 28°C. The driver can off-set the air outlet
temperature in the rear part with 2°C from the general air
outlet temperature in case of heating. The driver can off-
set the roof-units air outlet temperature with 2°C from the
general air outlet temperature.

The pipe network of the magiqair system contains pipes
and hoses of different diameters.
n
It is important that, when replacing
pipes or components, the same pipe
diameters are used.
When you don’t keep to this the
coolant flow may negatively affected
and the magiqair system will not
function properly anymore.
Frontbox
Always mark the position when removing the pipes of the
frontbox. The frontbox has two 22 mm pipes and two 18
mm pipes. The 22 mm pipes can be connected to the 18
mm connections and the other way around. If done so it
would cause serious faults in the system because the
wrong heat exchanger would be used.
Insulation
To prevent heating up or cooling down the coolant during
respectively cooling or heating, the pipe network is
insulated.

Coolant flow through the Aquaclime-unit is only possible
when the Aquaclime-unit electro/water valve is opened.
There is a bleed nipple (8) fitted on the front side of the
unit for bleeding the Aquaclime-unit.
Refrigerant
The refrigerant used in the Aquaclime-unit is R134a. The
system is a regular air-conditioning circuit with a
compressor, condenser, drier, thermostatic expansion
valve and an evaporator. The high and low side pressure
connections (7) are on the front side of the unit. The
system is equipped with a high-pressure and a low-
pressure sensor to prevent damage to the components.
The pressure switches interrupt the Aquaclime-unit
engagement signal from KIBES to the hydraulic control
unit.
Maintenance
Maintenance interval depends on climate, operation and
operation conditions. To ensure proper function of the
magiqair system it is important to run the system once a
month for at least ten minutes. When the winter screen is
in place you can operate the system by opening the grill
flap.
• To ensure a good operation of the Aquaclime-unit the
two condensers should be checked regularly for
contamination. If the air can't flow through properly,
the condensers can’t lose their heat and therefore
the capacity of the magiqair system will decrease, so
it is important that the condensers have to be cleaned
on a regular base depending on climate, operation
and operation conditions.
• It is very important that all panels of the air-ducts to
the Aquaclime-unit are installed properly in order to
prevent air which is heated up will be used to cool the
Aquaclime-unit.
• Check drive belt for condition and correct preload.
• Check the oil level of the compressor at least once a
year and top up if necessary.
• The nitrogen accumulator of the hydraulic system
has to be refilled every 5 years.
• Bleed the Aquaclime-unit when work has been
carried out on the Magiqair system.

• The roof-units 3-way electro/water valve (14)
controls the flow of fresh coolant to the roof circuit by
changing the amount of coolant that flows out of the
roof-circuit. The same amount of coolant that flows
out of the roof-circuit will be added into the roof-
circuit; thus by changing the amount that flows out,
the amount that flows in is controlled. This valve also
prevents cold coolant flowing to the engine when the
system is switched from cooling to heating. In that
case the valve will go to complete recirculation of
coolant, thus letting no coolant out of the roof-circuit.
Then during a certain time (approximately 3 min) the
valve slowly opens.
• The pre-heater electro/water valve (2) opens when
the system is heating, allowing coolant from the
engine into the system. The Aquaclime-unit electro/
water valve (3) opens when the system is cooling.
Only one of these valves can be open at the same
time, else cold coolant could flow back to the engine.
When switching from hot to cold, or from cold to hot,
first the valve that is already open closes and then
after 20 s the other valve opens.
• The floor-circuit pump (4) is connected to the pre-
heater. If this pump needs to be activated, KIBES
sends a signal to the pre-heater to switch on the
pump. The roof-circuit pump (5) is directly controlled

Recirculation
The roof-units and the frontbox have smog flaps to
control the ratio of fresh air and recirculated air. The
smog flaps are also equipped with a position sensor. The
position sensors are used to control the position of the
flaps.
In the roof-circuit these flaps are also used to control the
air outlet temperature of the heat exchangers. By mixing
the recirculated air with the fresh air, it is possible to
reach a certain interior temperature faster. This mixing is
carried out automatically.
