BWBB 2013 BANK MANAGEMENT
(A202 Assignment #2)

Objective:
This assignment requires each group to use of Microsoft Excel (MS Excel) to complete a
financial analysis. This exercise aims to gauge the student’s ability to calculate, interpret and
present the numerical data of bank performance.

Students are thereafter expected to prepare a report which answer the questions given. The MS
Excel (with excel function) must be submitted on portal (softcopy only).

Important Notes:
1. The paper must be typed-written using Word with font size of 12, Times New Roman and 1.5
spacing.

2. The length of the report should not exceed 3,000 words.

3. The report should be arranged according to the following sequenced:


- Cover Page
- Assessment Criteria (Appendix 1)
- Report
- References
- Appendices (if any)

Questions
Each group is required to analyse performance of a chosen Commercial Bank in Malaysia as in
Assignment #1 PLUS THREE (3) other Commercial Banks. Report to be written similar to
assignment #1.
1. Briefly introduce the 3 banks (Background) and why they are chosen plus the objective of the
assignment/study.
2. Calculate the banks’ performance (Key Profitability Ratios as discussed in Chapter 4) for the
last five years (2016-2020).
3. Interpret and summarize results for each ratios of the 4 banks and compare the performance
among them.
Submission Date
The student must submit the Report and MS Excel by WEEK 14 (JUNE 17, 2021, before 8pm).
5 marks will be deducted for late submission. No report will be accepted after 5 calendar days
from submission date. Extension maybe granted provided it is applied earlier!
