Roskilde University is currently in the process of implementing an educational reform which means that all master’s
programmes will cease to exist in their present form and will be replaced by new master’s programmes. In February
2021, a list of all the master’s programmes which are offered at Roskilde University from the 1st of September 2022 will
be published.

The final admission opportunity for this programme is the entry on the 1st of September 2021 (see application deadlines
at www.ruc.dk). Applicants with a legal right of admission who apply for admission after September 1st 2021, will
maintain their legal right of admission to one of the new master’s programmes at Roskilde University.
Changes in legal rights of admission will be published on the 1st of May 2021 at the latest.

If you have completed a bachelor's programme in Humanities at RUC in Cultural Encounters and International
Studies you have a legal right (retskrav) of admission to the master's programme in Cultural Encounters and
International Development Studies (Master of Arts (MA) in Cultural Encounters and International Development Studies ).
In order to use your legal right of admission to the master's programme in Cultural Encounters and International
Development Studies , you must apply for admission to the master's programme in accordance with current application
deadlines and procedures . See application deadlines and procedures on the university's webpage.

If you apply after the application deadline you may only be admitted if there are any vacant study places.

If your bachelor’s or professional bachelor’s degree has not been preapproved as giving admission, the university will
assess the academic content of your bachelor’s or professional bachelor’s degree. If the university assesses that your
degree is relevant and gives you qualifications that correspond to one of the qualifying degrees, you may be offered
admission.

If the university assesses that your bachelor’s of professional bachelor’s degree is relevant for admission to the master’s
programme but that you lack few essential qualifications, the university may decide that you have to complete
prerequisite studies amounting to no more than 30 ECTS credits in order to be admitted. You must pass prerequisite
studies before being enrolled in the master’s programme.

If you do not hold a bachelor’s degree as a rule you cannot be admitted to a master’s programme. However, you may
apply for admission if you fulfill the following criteria:

You have academic qualifications at a bachelor’s level.

You have completed a minimum of 180 ECTS points within a relevant higher education programme.
The course of study must be coherent and there must be progression throughout the course of study.

The University will make a concrete assessment of your academic qualifications.
