The global consumption of plastic increases every year for it
became one of the most important utility used by the billions of people in daily basis. In consequence, these commercial statistics release and transport chemical agents which harm all biotic factors of the ecosystem. This study was conducted to make a biodegradable plastic using the starch extracted from the black-eyed beans. The collected black-eyed beans were prepared with the water and vinegar which served as an alternative for hydrochloric acid for reducing the amylopectin content of the starch and glycerin as plasticizer. The mixture turned into a thin and clear plastic after it was spread thoroughly in a heat-resistant pad and dried for 35 hours. The biodegradable plastic was analyzed through flammability, strength and clarity tests which were judged by other respondents. The results showed that the bioplastic was clearer and can hold an ample amount of load but the commercial plastic is stronger. The bioplastic took longer time to burn than the commercial plastic and produced ashes. Therefore, the research proved that black-eyed beans, through extracting its starch could be a potential source of biodegradable plastic that can help stop plastic pollution which is very relevant to our country
