Project Summary

Provide a brief summary of the activity and how it will be implemented

The project will develop and establish a centralized mechanized Horticulture Farm in Pansor,
Pantao Ragat, Lanao del Norte which will be collectively managed and operated by the 2 CSGs
existing in the Area. The farm will focus on horticulture while integrating the organic farming
methods and mechanization to promote sustainable and responsible agricultural practices.

The 2 CSGs will have individual crops to be planted whom they will be producing in the farm.
Malangas : Onion with Eggplant
Masabar – Garlic with Eggplant

In the centralized farm, the 2 CSGs will plant together the fruit trees and corn as their common
crop. A Management Team will be developed for the day-to-day operation of the farm.

The proposed project aside from its declared purpose, will also serve as an innovation to
indirectly improve the relationships among the IDPs and Host Community Members but ease
the psycho-social tensions fueled by the recent disasters experienced by the target CSGs.

Why is the assistance needed?

The lack of livelihood opportunity and the adverse effect of Marawi Siege now worsened by the
Pandemic made the 2 CSGs to express the need to have a sustainable livelihood that is timely
and relevant to their skills and available resources. If the proposed project will be fully realized,
it will also help them to increase their household income and improve their state of living in the
long term. The assistance will also help them to be self-reliant even after the project ended.
