Instruction: Answer the following questions using one (1) paragraph each.

1. What is the difference between an “enterpriser” and an “entrepreneur”?

-According to the dictionary, the meaning of entrepreneur is a person who organize and operate
a business. The enterpriser is defined as a entrepreneur who undertake an enterprise. They
might sounds similar but they are totally different. They are different because they have a
different characteristic on their work and perspective in life.

2. What characterizes the transition and change stage of an enterprise life cycle?

-The first stage of enterprise life cycle is the New Venture Formation it is the creation of new
companies, the stage where the business emerges, focuses on discovering how to launch and
initiate new projects effectively and then on integrating the tools and skills required to succeed.
The second is the Progress and Growth where this stage focuses on development and growth
of the company. And lastly, Transition and Change where this stage focuses on evolving and
changing new perspectives and goals.

3. Why men are more like to start businesses than women? What factor might account for this
difference?

-Truly that men are more likely to start business than women. Some research said that this
statement is true, because women are not risk takers than men. Women are too emotional
when it comes to decision-making. However, men are too brave to make decisions on their own
in starting business than women.

4. How important is education for starting a business? Why?

-Education is essential for starting a business. Without further knowledge on the industry will
have a difficulties in the start. Having a education is a advantage and a big help for an
individual, because it will make their life easier. You will thank yourself later of you finished your
degree because it will help you big time on the field or industry you were going.

5. Why should you set goals? Define the characteristics of effective goals.
SMART goals are:

Specific: Well defined, clear, and unambiguous

Measurable: With specific criteria that measure your progress toward the accomplishment of the
goal

Achievable: Attainable and not impossible to achieve

Realistic: Within reach, realistic, and relevant to your life purpose

Timely: With a clearly defined timeline, including a starting date and a target date. The purpose
is to create urgency.

6. What are the six principles of managing goals? How will these principles help you?

-The principles of managing goals are the Planning, Directing, Controlling, and Staffing. The
planning is where you plan for the future. Directing or organizing people at the workplace to
achieve goals. Controlling where you manage your people. Lastly, Staffing where you hire
people on a suitable job. These principles have a big role in managing goals and to have an
effective management.
