FIND POSITION AND GMT FROM LUNAR DISTANCE (LUNARS)

For this to work, the following MUST be done first. Please read User Notes 18.2 carefully.
· Select GMT mode. (Settings sheet.)
· Set watch correction to 0. (Computer Almanac page - as are many following items.)
· Determine latitude, adjust for run to time of lunar sight and enter in Assumed Latitude field.
· Take following two sights 'simultaneously'.
· Take and record altitude sight of suitable body. (Usually, but not necessarily the same body as in lunar sight.)
· Reduce sight as normal, entering your best guess of Assumed Longitude and GMT.
· Then adjust Assumed Longitude so that the "Intercept" field reduces to zero.
· Take and record lunar sight between the Moon and suitable body.
· Select body used for lunar sight (if different). Do not change Assumed Position or time.

· Enter measured lunar distance and limb information below.
