Section 1: Review (Approx. 100 words)

Since starting my course, I have learnt many skills; my editing skills have improved through the
use of Final Cut Pro, and I have been able to refine those skills when working on my projects.
Before the course, I had no knowledge of how to use cameras or audio recorders but since
starting I have learnt those skills and have honed them in during every project we have done.
Socially, I have been a lot more confident to go up infront of a crowd and pitch my idea to them
which is something I wasn't very good at before.

Section 2: Project Concept (Approx. 250 words)

Our song for our music video is “Fly by Night” by Rush, it follows the theme of new beginnings
and someone moving to a new place in life. We are using a performative and narrative style, as
we want to recreate the band playing (like in the original music video) and also add a story onto
it. The target audience for my music video is going to be people who enjoy the band Rush, I
would say they would be roughly 40 as that means they were teens when the song originally
came out so they would be nostalgic. In our performative scenes, we will style it as if it was in
the era that the song came out. This will require research on what outfits and styles people
used to wear in those times.

I am going to be the producer for my music video, the role of producer includes doing the pre-
production work, sourcing locations, and researching context. I will try to hold a high standard of
research to create a high-quality final piece.

As we cannot drive, our car locations may have to be inside a car with a greenscreen on the
outside. This may prove to be challenging; however, Corey and I will work on the edit together
and so we can tackle that issue. Equipment wise, I will use my previous knowledge on the
camera and order a Sony X70 camera and the H4 Zoom recorder to capture our footage.

Section 3: Evaluation (Approx. 50 words)

For my Weebly, I will evaluate my progress weekly and set targets; I will use the
brief as a guide for my work and when we have finished the practical side of our
project, I will use the feedback from my tutors and peers to create a review of what I
have done well on and what needs improvement. This will help on future projects,
as I will know my strengths and weaknesses.
