Dos and Don’ts’s on the day of the interview

Here are the things which you have to apply for your effective interview on the day of interview as under:

DO’S

➢ Conscious about your dress (Remember that “First Impression is the Last Impression”)

First thing is the obvious thing that you have to decide that what type of dress you have to wear for the
effective and Handsome looks in front of the Interviewer. Although, your dress should not be over or
funky style etc. As we all know that “First impression is the last impression”. So, ultimately you have to
more conscious about your dress.

➢ Smile, eye contact and acknowledgement of all members of interview panel

Another important thing is that don’t forget to smile. Also make an eye contact with your interviewer.
From this thing you meet, your communication with the interviewer forms part of the decision-
making as to whether to recruit you. Apart from that make fully acknowledgments off all the
members of interview panel.

➢ Shaking of hands

Shake hands in a firm but gentle way, but you don’t need to shake hands tightly extremely
strong.Shaking hands with your interview will produce a good appearance among them.
➢ Wait to be asked sit down

When you enter in the room then after greetings wait for the response of the interviewer for further
actions. Either if he said sits down then sit and If he say nothing then wait.

➢ Make sure you sit correctly and comfortably before starting


When you sit down on the chair then make sure that you are comfortable or not. During interview
these type of management cause bad impression on interviewer.
➢ Show interest
Another important thing is that during interview you have to show full concentration and a warm
interest in front of the interviewer. This could be done when you asked genuine questions from your
interviewer.
➢ Answer the question asked
You have to more prepare about your questions before the interview. Mostly questions are same in the
interview activity so you have to be more prepared and answer the questions with confidence and
effectiveness.

➢ Keep positive all times

Don’t be in anger. Always keep yourself positive and show full positivity instead of negativity and also
don’t argue with the interviewer.

Here are the things which you have not to apply for your effective interview on the day of interview as
under:

DO NOT

➢ Don’t be late

On the day of your interview reached your interview location twenty minutes before. And on that day
don’t use your personal car, bike etc. Use the public transport like taxi.

➢ Do not Fidget and look at your watch

When you are sitting in front of the interviewer do not fidget and also do not look at your watch
continuously.

➢ Do not Argue

Be in a positive mood. Don’t be in anger. If you are not agreeing with interviewer then you don’t need to
argue with that person.

➢ Do not putt anything

Another main thing is that you don’t need to put anything on the desk of the interviewer like keys etc.

➢ Do not be Negative

Be in a positive mood. Don’t be in anger. And don’t show negativity with interviewer
➢ Do not be indifferent

Also don’t be appearing in indifferent.Beacuse it cause a bad impression on the interviewer

➢ Appear aggressive or act in a superior way

Also don’t appear in aggressive or act in a superior way because it may cause bad impact.

➢ Do not Show interest in money and holidays

The most important thing is that doesn’t show your interest in more money and don’t asked question like
that how many holidays that your company should give in a year.

(b) What is the difference between a panel and a competency-based interview?

➢ It may be electricity problem

➢ Image clearance problem
➢ AV presentations can take a considerable amount of time to prepare
