What is nation building and why is science and technology important in building
nation?

Nation building means creating a functional country from a non-functioning

one. In my opinion, it is like “repairing” a damaged country and making it work
properly again. Science and technology is an essential tool for rapid development. It
makes processes (and life) easier and more efficient. Without it, nation building will
take up so much time and the “building” progress would be very slow.

2. What do you think is the essential role does science and technology have to make
a successful nation building?

Through science and technology in partnership with human effort, the plans for
nation building are realized better, faster and more efficiently. For example, replacing
a demolished building as a result from war. It could be built using manual labor but the
result, quality and duration will not be the same as with the help of equipment. Apart
from having plans for nation building, its proper execution is equally important and
science and technology help do that.

3. How does a nation flourish with the help of science and technology?

Science and technology help improve our quality of life. It makes doing things a
lot easier and faster. Because of that, people can spend more time and effort in other
things making them productive. Productivity is the heart of a nation’s development
and science and technology fuels this.
