2. Provide a reference list of all cited materials.
3. The report must be submitted before 16 May 2021 before 12.00
am.

Task:

1. Please read the case study. Propose a suitable software process model for the case study.
2. Provide arguments that support your selected software process model (advantages).
3. Discuss the limitation (disadvantages) of the selected software process model with
respect to the case study.
4. For each phase of the selected software process model, propose the relevant task(s) or
activities, work products and CASE tools. Present them in a table.
5. Create a basic Gantt Chart for Task 4 with the following elements:
a. The Start Date for the project is 18th April 2021
b. The End Date is 18th April 2022
c. Describe one (1) milestone for EACH PHASE (Specification, Design, Validation and
Evolution).

CASE STUDY: SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES FOR CAR RENTAL SYSTEM

1. CUSTOMER apply for a car rental card. They fill out a form and provide their detail to confirm
their identity. After success, the system issued a car rental card to the customer.
2. Customer rent car by giving the clerk their car rental card and cars that they had rented. The
clerk totals the amount of the rental, which is received from the customers. Customers are
given a receipt with the due date on it. A record is created for each car rented.
3. Every time when customer return the rented car. If the car is returned late or overdue, a note
and the amount of the late fee is made on the record.
4. If a customer has a late fee, he or she is required to pay the amount the next time and car
rented. All payments are kept in a proper ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT.
5. The company has several special policies designed to provide a competitive edge in the car
rental market. Once a month the customer rental records are viewed by MANAGEMENT for
customer that have rented more than the bonus level which is set to RM100. Bonus customer
are sent a letter to thank them for their loyalty as well as issuing them several free rental
coupons.
6. Once a year, all customer records are examined for persons that have rented more than a
yearly bonus level (currently set at RM2500). A letter, free rental coupons, and a certificate for
free car rental are sent to the customer.
