Builders, MEGA Management Services (Private) Limited has the capability to
under-take civil engineering works and accomplishing these with highest degree
of quality. The Managing Director, controlling the firm, is an experienced person
in the field of civil works “supervision and execution”, the team working for the
firm have substantial experience of more than 40 Years in their field of
specializations and in the past have undertaken numerous civil engineering
projects working with reputable Construction firms of Pakistan.

METHOD OF PERFORMING THE WORK
GENERAL

1. Construction materials will be arranged in advance as per requirement of the


project and stored in appropriate accommodation. Adequate reserve stocks
will be maintained to off-set the effects of strikes and law and order situation
if any.

2. CONSTRUCTION ARRANGEMENTS

2.1 Divided sections.

As per site Actual Condition, the construction will be carried out in two
sections A and B.

2.2 Construction Schedule.

2.2.1 Date of Commencement.

As The Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued to us, Mega Management


Services (Private) Limited, we will have to start the works within the
prescribed period mentioned in the contract.

MOBILIZATION & PREPARETORY WORKS.

3. Immediately after the letter of NTP mobilization activity will start at site. This
will include following:

i). Mobilization of Contractor’s Equipment

Mega Management Services (Private) Limited will start mobilizing the


required construction equipment. Proper area will be marked for parking /
staking the equipment. Major equipment which needs necessary erection like
Mixer Machine will be started immediately. Proper storage accommodation for

cement will be constructed just besides the Concrete Mixer. All concrete
works whether temporary or permanent will be carried out through Concrete
Mixer. All other contractor’s equipment will be properly staked / parked after
necessary testing at site so that it can immediately brought into action as and
when required.

ii). Contractor’s Temporary Facilities

Mega Management Services (Private) Limited will develop temporary
facilities within the project area for construction team after carrying out
necessary survey to avoid any future obstruction to the permanent works and
keeping in view the circulation of manual and vehicular traffic. These facilities
will include following:

4. All structural excavation work at the project will
be carried out according to laid down specification

and taking necessary safety precautionary measures.

i). Method of Filling/Back Filling

This work shall consist of back filling including preparation of area for placing
and compaction of filling materials in layers and in accordance with the
specification and in conformity with the lines, grades, thickness and typical
cross-section as per drawings or established by the Engineer.

Material for the back fill shall consist of suitable material excavated or from
borrow / structural excavation. Suitable material shall have dry density
according to AASHTO or any other material as approved by the Engineer.

ii). Compaction method of Back Fill

Material for back fill, obtained and approved as provided above will be placed
in horizontal layers of uniform thickness in conformity with lines, grades,
sections and dimensions as shown on the drawings. The layers of loose
material shall be as specified in the specifications. The material will be spread
as per classification of the material in order to achieve the required density /
compaction.

iii). Equipment to be used for Excavation

For Structural Excavation / Bulk Excavation


we will depute Excavators and all excavation
will be done mechanically if the approach
will be available otherwise trenches / wall
foundations will be done manual labour.

Excavated material will be shifted from the site in Dump Trucks / Dumping
Tractor trolleys are other sources as per requirement of the site conditions.

For the back filling, spreading of suitable excavated material will be done with
the help of wide blade mechanical equipment like tractor in the horizontal
layer of specified thickness are as per site requirement.

classification of the material. It may be vibratory
compactors. Compaction will be done after the
excavated material is sprayed properly with water
in order to bring the moisture content very near
to optimum moisture content.

iv). Temporary Works & Dewatering

As far as the excavation of the project is concerned there is very few chances
that we require any temporary works to execute the final excavation.
However, if any specific condition arises, proper methodology will be
submitted and got approved before excavation. For any possible dewatering
proper sump at the deepest point will be planned. Proper dewatering pump of
appropriate capacity will be installed and operated through the Diesel
Engine / Electricity.

5. All Buildings construction works will be carried out as per drawings and
specifications detailed given below:

i). Methods of Construction of Building Works

After studying the issued drawing for construction, proper shop drawings will
be prepared after carrying out the survey at site and indicating the physical

elevation and submitted to Engineer for approval. Execution will be started
once the approved shop drawings are received by employer.

Excavation will be done mechanically with excavators. However, manual


labour will be deployed for excavation at restricted places. After completion of
the excavation the area will be properly dressed according to required levels.

grain by steel trowel or plastic trowel and then wash the dirty parts of the mat
coat by brush.

6. Curing: each layer should be curing fully before the plaster work. Bottom layer
should be curing by curing by sprayed water for 3 days or before the next

15. Progress Control:

Project Manager and Quality Control Manager will closely monitor the progress of
the project, whereas project progress will be reviewed on fortnightly basis and any

however measures will be taken to increase progress in summer season. The work

2.15 MECHANICAL STORE:
Most commonly use spare will be kept in this store to reduce the timely elapsed /
wasted during the purchasing and supplying the parts.

2.16 SITE STORE:


A covered store shall be constructed to accommodate the Daily use items, spare parts
for light and heavy machinery misc. items occasionally required.

An open store yard shall be established wherein a covered storage accommodation
shall be constructed for cement storage. It shall be a temporary structure with block
Masonry wall and tin roof. Proper care shall be taken for the water proofing specially
the roof and the cement shall be stored on a platform of concrete blocks, so as to avoid
the wastage of cement due to moisture.

Rest of the open area shall be developed to receive and store the aggregates and
materials required in construction phase.

2.18 STEEL YARD
Steel yard shall further be divided into two areas;

 Storage
 Fabrication

STORAGE

Storage area shall be used for bulk storage of the reinforcement bars and other
sections of the steel to be used in the project. However these reinforcement bars
placed on elevated from the ground.

FABRICATION

This area shall be provided with bar straightening, cutting and bending machines.
Skilled and semi-skilled worker shall cut and bend the Bars using these machines.

All the new materials will be staked over there. A Store Officer will be in-charge of
store along with two store keepers and helpers. This section will ensure that all the
demand of material from site personnel and office personnel is timely met.

2.19 RESIDENTIAL CAMP (Accommodation)

Most of the supervisory staff of Engineering Management Services shall be stationed at
Site Camp, where the Joint Venture shall provide them the Furnished Residential
accommodation. Two blocks of fully furnished rooms developed in Containers with
board cladded walls having attached bathroom to each room in Block No 1 and
common bathroom between two rooms in Block No 2.

Block No 1 shall be allotted to the senior most staff up to Engineer grade and Block 2
shall be allotted to Supervisor, foreman and like.
