Task 1 – Document

1. • Using a suitable software package, open the file Test1.RTF


Do not change the paper size, orientation or margin settings.
• Save the document in your work area with your name.
Make sure it is saved in the format of the software you are using. [1]

2. • Place in the header of the file, the automated file name with path, right aligned.
• Place in the footer:
 automated page numbers left aligned.
 your name, Centre number and candidate number right aligned.
• Make sure that:
 all the alignments match the page margins
 no other text or placeholders are included in the header and footer area
 headers and footers are displayed on all pages. [3]
3. Create and store the following paragraph styles:

4. At the start of the document enter the title:
Mountain Bike Study
Apply the MB-title style to this text. [2]
5. Enter your name immediately after the subtitle Revised by:
The style name MB-subtitle has already been created, stored and applied to the
subtitle text. Modify the MB-subtitle style so that only the following formatting is
applied:

Make sure that:
 The bullets are indented 2 centimetres from the left margin with a hanging
indent applied if the text wraps to a second line.
 The list is in a single line spacing with no space between the lines.

8. Change the page layout so that the subheading Global Market Growth and all
following text are displayed in two columns of equal width with a 1 centimetre space

9. Identify the 5 subheadings in the document and apply the MB-subhead style to each

10. Using the data in the file Test.CSV create a vertical bar chart to show the forecast
growth of Cross Country events only, for the years 2020 to 2023. [1]
11. Label the chart with the title:

12. Format the value axis scale to display:

 a minimum value of 9000
 a maximum value of 10500

 it is 3.5 centimetres wide
 the image is not distorted.

 left of the column.
• Make sure the text wraps around the image and the image fits within the column.

17. • Spell check and proofread the document.
• Make sure that:
 The list, chart and paragraph with the outside border are not split over two
columns or pages
 there are no widows or orphans
 there are no blank pages
 the house style specification has been followed and the correct styles applied
as instructed
 spacing between all items is consistent.
• Save the document using the same file name.
• Attach the document to the Assignment on Microsoft Teams. Make sure that you
have entered your name, Centre number and candidate number on your
