MUNHUMUTAPA SCHOOL OF COMMERCE

ATTACHMENT LOGBOOK

Preamble

The log book shall be filled daily by the trainee/student, every two weeks or monthly by the
attachee’s mentor/supervisor where he/she is attached and once per semester by the an academic
supervisor from the School of Commerce. The logbook shall guide the student and the employer as
to what aspects of the training have to be covered. The student shall be responsible for the
safekeeping of the logbook.

Guidelines to the employer/supervisor

 The student on the training is expected to work as much as possible under the supervision of
a skilled worker.
 The student should be placed in the normal operations of the organisation and afforded the
opportunity where possible to acquire individual experience.
 We request you to give the student guidance and assess his/her performance as closely and
as accurately as possible.
 Please fill in your objective assessment of the student in his/her log book once every two
weeks or monthly for record.
 Students who do not abide by the code of conduct may be withdrawn from the course.

Guidelines to student/trainee

The logbook forms an important of your university studies and practical training. It serves as a
means of checking whether you would have had balanced and adequate practical training.

 You are therefore requested to fill in the logbook daily, detailing all work done, and tasks
performed.
 Care should be taken to record all work done as accurately as possible and in detail.
 Ensure that you present your logbook your supervisor regularly for confirmation and
signature.
