To cultivate an exceptional, innovative learning community that enables all students to succeed in a changing world.

To Whom it May Concern,

It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Ms. Megan Gregoire who completed her Pro-Sem and
student teaching at Earl Elementary over the course of the 2020-2021 school year. Megan’s Pro-Sem experience was
unique. Typically, this experience includes teaching approximately 4 lessons. Due to the pandemic and a significant staff
shortage, Megan took over for the classroom teacher 2 weeks into her placement and taught consecutively for a month
totaling 100 lessons until her cooperating teacher returned. The 2nd grade team felt confidant she could fulfill this role
after only 2 weeks at Earl. I placed a certified intervention teacher directly outside of Megan’s classroom who ran small
groups while Megan instructed the class. She simultaneously taught students in-person and virtually, a task that many of
our seasoned teachers found challenging. Megan set up daily lessons in Google Classroom, kept running grades,
managed classroom behaviors, and fulfilled all classroom responsibilities. Megan enthusiastically took on this challenge
and accomplished it with ease.

Megan continued to shine during her student teaching experience. She taught full-time for 8 weeks to both in-person
and virtual students. She created Google Slides, anchor charts, Seesaw assignments, exit tickets, and differentiated tasks
to meet the needs of all learners. She took the initiative to create a classroom positive behavior support system to
ensure social distancing guidelines were followed. Megan worked hard to make learning fun. My favorite lesson to
observe was during the fairy tale unit where she read the story of “The Three Little Pigs” and dressed up as the pigs and
the big bad wolf. The students and I were certainly engaged!

Often in interviews it is a challenge to ascertain the more intangible qualities of a candidate such as work ethic, drive,
determination, and tenacity. Megan possesses all of these qualities and more. She actively pursued the position of
building sub at Earl and was hired the day after graduation. That is a huge accomplishment. She has a great career ahead
of her, and I am confidant she be an outstanding addition to your staff.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with additional questions.

Sincerely,

Rachel Franco
