TITLE OF Improving Soil Fertility of Mango Trees (Mangifera indica) by using

THE chicken manure
RESEARCH

RATIONALE The use of inorganic fertilizers are widely applied and a continuous
application in planting and growing mango trees. Inorganic
fertilizers in the Philippines ranges from 500php up to 1,500 php
per 50 kg. of fertilizer. With this cost of fertilizer alone, the price of
the mango fruits being harvested and sold to markets are
increasing with low-end quality of the mangoes. The use of
inorganic fertilizers also downgrades the fertility of each tree that
results in low quality of harvests. The purpose of the study is to
increase the crop yield of mango trees, also increasing the number
of fruits to be harvested while making a better quality of the fruit,
and also increase the fertility of the tree. The objective of this
study is to compare and differentiate the organic made fertilizers
from chicken manure, from other organic fertilizer and inorganic
fertilizers. The researchers will be applying chicken manure
fertilizers to three (3) random mango trees, and applying chicken
manure tea to the other three (3) random mango trees, as well as
inorganic fertilizer application to other three (3) random mango
trees.
Materials and Brief description of the methodology
methods
- This research proposal will take place in a mango farm with
numerous mango trees planted and grown, making the
mango trees as the subject of the study. For this study, we
will be choosing nine (9) random mango trees to give
treatment and experimentation.

Enumerate treatments
Treatments in the study:
- Control
- Chicken manure fertilizers
- Chicken manure tea

Chicken manure fertilizers. A solid organic fertilizer that contains

large amounts of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium.
Chicken manure tea. An organic matter inside a cloth bag/sack
and to be diluted in a bucket of water.

Treatment application

1. Chicken manure fertilizers

- Composting process will be set in place first before
the application of chicken manure fertilizers. twenty-
five (25) kilograms of chicken manure fertilizers per
mango tree will be spread in the field.
2. Chicken manure tea
- The chicken manure will be placed inside a sack or
cloth bag and be submerged into a bucket of water
to start the dilution process of the manure. After the
dilution, twenty-five (25) liters of the chicken manure
tea will be sprayed into the soil per mango tree.

Data to be gathered
The following parameters will be measured in the experiments:
1. Soil Nutrient
- The nutrients from the soil samples of each mango
tree placements will be measured, before and after
the experimentations.
2. Number of fruits and yield per tree
- The total harvest per mango tree will be collected
and recorded, including the average weight of fruits
per tree.
3. Fruit quality
- Five (5) ripe mango fruits from each tree will be
collected to examine the physical, chemical, and
nutrient properties of each mango.
