SWOT ANALYSIS OF HAILE HOTEL AND RESORT

PREFACE

Haile hotel and resort is aprivately owned hotel by Ethiopian athlete haile
gebreselasse . it was launched in 2003 by opening haile hotel and resort in
hawasa .

The hotel situated 19 km from the lake hawasa .it has vision to be benchmark
indigenous hospitality chain developer and operator in east Africa based on its
moto “its possible “ spirit by the year 2018 .

Internal analysis

Strengthes of the hotel


 It invest in its employess and management to develop pool of
expert and talent.
 It contribute to the local economy
 Unhampered by owner or no agency problem
 It has builded links and network with developers and technology
company which allow it to be easily access by every one
 Have strong internet access which can be one sort to satisfy the
want of customer
 Its amammoth of empoyer in other means it hired many
empolyess in myriad discipline
 Have well established solid provider relationship with customer or
follow a customer driven approach and marketing phiosohy
 Have brand acknoweledgment due to its expansion in different
area of the country
 The expansion has helped the hotel to have agood reputation
which in turn generate good return on building revenue stream or
internal capacity
 Have strong free cash flow that provide resource in the hand of
the hotel to expand its self.

Weakness of the hotel


 Have limited success outside its core business or it has faced
challenge in moving to other service sector with its present
culture
 Its organizational structure is only compatible with the present
business model
 Financial planning is not done properly and efficiently i.e the hotel
use the cash more efficiently than what is doing in the business
 Highly dependent on tourist which are highly sensitive to plotical
events or it ignore the low level income group of the society
 Low level of skills and education , working condition especially
their waitress
 There is a gap in the service provided by the hotel , this lack of
choice can also give path for new competitotrs
 DAYS inventory is high this make the hotel to raise more capital to
invest in the channel as a result this impact the long term growth
of the hotel.

Opportunities for the hotel
 Poltical stability
 Since the hotel and resort industry is not expanded in the many
area of the country it has advantage for the hotel to open
different branch in the country
 Increasing globalization which lead to more international traveler
and tourist can also advantage for the hotel to generate revenue

Threats to the hotel


 Increasing competition
 Economic recsession or contraction which lead to less spending of
the coutsmer
 Rising cost of inputs
 Growing strength of small hotels
 High inflation rate (hyperinflation)
