Scholarship Essay

No kid likes going to the dentist. Except me. I love going to the dentist or my

orthodontist, i love watching all the techniques and tools they use. When I first got my braces I

fell in love with everything they do, from the certain way the brackets are positioned to the way

they put the rubber bands on. I love it. With this being said my dream is to go to dental school. I

intend to major in biology at the University of Minnesota twin cities the further my education at

the U of M dental school. Through all my hardwork and dedication I feel I am the best candidate

for this scholarship.

I am the best candidate for this scholarship because of my love of dentistry, my care for

people, and my willingness to keep learning. When I went to the orthodontist I was that annoying

kid who asks all the questions. “What's this for” “why are you doing that” “how did you know

you wanted to be a dentist” the only difference was that I wasn't doing it do be annoying, I was

doing it to get more knowledge of the topic. I was so curious about it, and it helped me know that

I wanted to do that. Another thing I like to do is volunteer, this shows how willing I am to help

the community.

My future plan is to go to college for 4 years to get my bachelors at the university of

minnesota and major in biology then further my education at the university of minnesota

dentistry school. Attend the dentistry school for 3 years then get an internship at an orthodontist

place in the cities.

 In conclusion i think im the best candidate for this scholarship due to the fact that i

qualify for all the requirements. I am kind and hardworking and deserve this scholarship. I have

so much passion and joy for this career I want to pursue it without having to worry about money.
