4.2.3 Installing the Main Device and the DPS on the Wall
This section describes the procedure and precautions for installing a main device and a DPS
on the wall.
Installation Requirements
The main device and the DPS are installed on the wall in normal mode. The main device or
the DPS can use the same mounting kits. Requirements for the wall are as follows:
l The main device and the DPS are installed separately on the reinforced concrete bearing
wall with the concrete strength class C25 or higher.
l For each device, the wall must be capable of bearing the weight four times the weight of
the device and a force of 1.25 kN (281.25 lbf) pulled by a bolt outwards.
l Expansion anchor bolts must be tightened using the torque of 30 N·m (265.52 lbf·in.) so
that the bolts stay secured without damaging the wall.
l In any scenario, to ensure the heat dissipation of devices and waterproof performance of
ports at the bottom, devices must be equipped with bottoms downward and the angle
between devices and the vertical line must be less than 10 degrees.
Installation Scenarios
The DPS can be installed in remote RRU deployment, EasyMacro, small cell, and LampSite
scenarios. (In LampSite scenarios, non-centralized installation mode is used. The PWR and
LampSite base station are installed separately.)
In the following figures, RRU, Micro, or AAU indicates the main device, PWR indicates the
power module, and BAT indicates the battery module.
NOTE
Both the OPM30M and OPM30A can function as the PWR. The OPM30A must be installed with the
BAT together.
l Centralized installation on the wall
– Three RRUs, one PWR, and one BAT are installed on the wall, as shown in the
following figure.
Figure 4-17 Application scenario of three RRUs, one PWR and one BAT
It is recommended that the RRUs, PWR and BAT be installed in sequence. PWR is
close to the user AC power system. RRUs are installed at the left side of the PWR
and the BAT is at its right side. The BAT must be away from strong heat sources.
NOTE
Equip the PWR with the RRU or BAT, then install them on the wall or on pole in normal
mode, as shown in the following figure.
The PWR can be installed separately.
– One RRU and one PWR (OPM30M) are installed on the wall without backup
power, as shown in the following figure.
Figure 4-19 Application scenario of one RRU and one PWR without backup power
l Non-centralized installation
Due to the aesthetic factor and other limitations, it is recommended that the PWR and the
main device be installed separately while the BAT is installed close to the PWR on the
wall, as shown in the following figures.
Figure 4-20 Application scenario of one micro, one PWR, and one BAT

4.2.4 Installing the Main Device and the DPS on the Pole
This section describes the procedure and precautions for installing a main device and a DPS
on the pole.
Installation Requirements
Space for installing one BAT allows two PWRs to be installed side by side or one RRU to be
installed and requirements for installing the main device and the DPS on the pole are as
follows:
l Three or more BATs can be installed on a pole whose diameter is greater than 76 mm
(2.99 in.).
– Up to six BATs can be installed on a pole whose diameter ranges from 76 mm to
114 mm (2.99 in. to 4.48 in.).
– If more than three BATs are installed on a pole, they must be installed in different
layers. Before installation, you must confirm the bearing capacity of the pole with
the customer.
l The diameter of big poles ranges from 114 mm to 400 mm (4.48 in. to 15.75 in.), such as
monitoring poles, cable poles, and concrete poles. The BAT with a standard mounting kit
cannot be installed on a big pole. Before such an RRU is installed on a big pole, the
appropriate mounting kit must be obtained. Installation requirements are as follows:
– Only one BAT or one BAT and one PWR can be installed on each mounting kit.
– The device can only be installed in normal mode instead of side-mounted mode.
