It was originally called the SURFLANT Scholarship Foundation but expanded its scope in 2004. Now it provides scholarships to dependents and spouses of Navy Surface Force personnel in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. Eligible applicants must have a parent who has served at least 6 years in a Surface Force command and plan to attend an accredited 4-year college in the US for their undergraduate degree.     The SURFLANT Scholarship
    Foundation was chartered in 1980 by In June 2010, 42 scholarships were
