On May 27, 2021, at approximately 1:31 AM, officers of the

Madison Police Department responded to the Woods Crossing

subdivision after a resident reported a suspicious person and car

alarm sounding in the area. Upon arrival, officers began

canvassing the area and determined that several residents’

vehicles had been broken into in the Woods Crossing, Tidewater,

Sandalwood and Highwoods subdivisions. Further investigation led

to the arrest in the neighborhoods of two individuals believed to

have been involved in the break-ins. They were identified as

Kentario Buie, age 19, of Crystal Springs, MS and Marcavious

Palmer, age 18, of Clinton, MS. Each has been charged with one

count of Auto Burglary with additional charges likely.

A third individual who was also believed to be involved in the

auto burglaries was identified through investigation as Devin

Isaiah Bates, age 19, of Jackson, MS. An arrest warrant for Auto

Burglary has been obtained for Bates. Bates is possibly driving

a 2007 Red Honda Element with a MS License Plate E965CH

(Children’s Hospital Specialty Plate). The vehicle was stolen

from the area at the time of the break-ins. Anyone coming into

contact with Bates and/or the stolen vehicle are asked to contact

local law enforcement immediately.
