GENERAL INTRODUCTION

1. Context and Justification

In areas where the population has lack of resources demand increases the price at
which the service is provided. Many people is unable to pay it and they are affected
to perform daily activities of having closed homes partially or completely darken
rooms, making it impossible for people to perform activities requiring inside their
home.

Under these circunstances a Brazilian proposes a solution to this problem. The

invention of harness sunlight with recyclables. Placing the project in settlements,
where people have no lighting in their homes where economic resources are low
and energy is a source of environment-friendly.

 Targeted community

Because settlements are located in the poorest population of the metropolitan area
the principal objective is the development of clean energy supply to provide an
alternative that lets sunlight into the rooms during the day. With this project people
can carry out with their activities within their home more efficiently.

 The institutional framework

A plastic bottle full of water illuminates the equivalent of a 50 watt incandescent

bulb. This "green light" is the brainchild home created by the Brazilian mechanic
Alfredo Moser, a prototype Solar Bottle surprising that, in addition to light in areas
without electricity, does not damage the environment and gives a second use to
pollutants plastic containers.

The project is taking place in settlements in the metropolitan region. It will be

organized by volunteers, NGO´s, the Ministry of development, CONRED and
international organizations. These organizations will supply with recyclable
materials to develop the project as well as for the execution of it.
