Mascot Tower Structural Issues – Response to Media Speculation

Statement from Managing Director of Aland Developments Group, Andrew Hrsto:

Aland is a highly respected construction and development company that prides itself
on the quality of its design and the attention to detail in its finished products.

Aland's developments are designed, approved and built to meet all engineering and
design standards and are professionally assessed by council and highly qualified
designers and engineers at each stage along the way.

Recent media speculation attempting to link Aland's high quality project Peak Towers
and the unfortunate events for the owners and occupiers of Mascot Towers is not only
wrong but without any evidence.

I understand that independent investigations are being undertaken to determine the

cause of structural damage to the 10-year old Mascot Towers at 1 – 5 Bourke St
Mascot. Until these investigations have been completed, speculation about the cause
of the damage is unhelpful.

However, what I can say is that I am confident that Aland's work at Mascot has met
design and engineering standards and that Aland is very proud of this quality
development.

As the Managing Director of Aland, I welcome the investigation into the causes of the
structural issues for Mascot Towers and look forward to the real causes of these
problems being identified. Naturally, Aland will happily work with any investigation
into the Mascot Towers building.
