HOLLAND NEWS / WEEK 6 / NURSEN RÜMEYSA KUBAT 17222202004

1) “In a statement made by the Holland Ministry of Defense, it was stated that 100 to 150
soldiers sent from the Netherlands will protect Erbil International Airport in Northern
Iraq.”

I think that the Holland aims to keep its relations with Iraq properly and achieve its goal of
becoming a strong and effective foreign policy actor, which is among the main goals and
policies of the European Union.

2) “The European Union prepared a proposal on the imposition of sanctions, claiming

that they committed war crimes against Azerbaijani President Aliyev and his wife
Mihriban Aliyeva. The Holland parliament accepted this motion.”

Last week, the embargo had been imposed by the EU on Turkey. This week, Azerbaijan is on
the agenda of the European Union. From my point of view, both countries are fighting to
protect their borders and the security of their country. Judging from the recent sanctions
decisions of the EU states, I think the reason for them is 'Islamophobia'. This is why they
ignore certain countries, try other countries for war crimes, and impose embargoes. In this
news, just as they ignored the war crimes committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan and
accused Azerbaijan.
3) “It was determined that bird flu, which emerged in the Netherlands in late October,
spread too many parts of the country. It has been announced that more than 500
thousand chickens have been culled in poultry farms where the disease has been
encountered so far.”

In my opinion, it is predicted that in the Netherlands, which is fighting Covid-19 like the
whole world, there will be health, agricultural and economic difficulties with the spread of
bird flu. Therefore, the government has taken these precautions to keep people, the
environment, agricultural activities, and sustain economic growth.
