Abstract

Globalization has brought the countries closer and closer in term of business culture. Business
culture has played an importation role in success of a business so besides business culture
differences, it is very important to understand the similarities of business culture.
The purpose of this report is to give an overview on the similarities of business culture between
Vietnam and other countries including Canada, US and Africa.
There are plenty of things of Vietnam culture in business are similar to other global countries,
this report will be focused on the similarities about Human Nature (motivations, reaction and
gossip), Etiquette (Greeting, welcome Newbies, Business Attire), Brainstorming and Business
management.
Human Nature
 Motivations
There are many ways that a business can motivate their employees, some people are motivated
by money, by career growth, by learning new things and by relationships with coworkers in the
company. However, it is not different across the countries when leadership team wants to
improve the business, they use motivations to enhance their employees.

 Gossip
Gossip is considered as a nature of people so it is happening everywhere, no matter where people
are at. In business especially in top management position, people need to be careful about not
what you do, but also about what people perceive the information.
 Reaction
People are generally not different as people all have reactions when they are dealing with
something although they come from different places in the world. Especially when people are
asked to do tasks they do not want to do, people will react similarly. Firstly, employees will find
the barriers why they cannot take those tasks. Secondly, people will do the tasks but they will not
do their best.
Etiquette
 Greeting
There are some similarities between Vietnam and other countries.
 Welcome Newbies

 Business Attire
People seem to be more causal at work due to globalization however the similarities between
Vietnam and other countries are diversities in attire. It depends on company’s policies and
people need to look suitable in the working environment.
Brainstorming
Developing new ideas between different countries is very similar, people are very collaborative
ad it can come from top management to employees or from employees to managers.
Business management

It is very similar between Vietnam and other countries in term of time management.
Conclusion
Vietnam seems to be getting closer to the world due to globalization as Vietnam has many
similarities to other countries in term of business culture. It is convinced that business culture is
very essential to business success.
