INTRODUCTION

1.1 PURPOSE OF PROJECT CHARTER

Drone to Home Medical Solution project charter documents and tracks the necessary information required
by decision maker(s) to approve the project for funding. The project charter includes the needs, scope,
justification, and resource commitment as well as the project’s sponsor’s decision to proceed or not to
proceed with the project. It is created during the Initiating Phase of the project.
The intended audience of Drone to Home Medical Solution project charter is the project sponsor’s and senior
leadership.

more than a year to complete. The project budget is set at $1.75M.

BUSINESS OBJECTIVE AND BUSINESS CASE

1.2 BUSINESS OBJECTIVE

The objectives of the Drone to Home Delivery Solution project are as follows:
• Identify and obtain necessary project team resource approvals
• Develop the Operational requirements to implement the system
• Develop Wilmont’s online order entry system modification that will allow customers in the San
Francisco area to register their willingness to have a drone deliver their orders by means of online or
smartphone entry.
• Develop a segment of the system to allow Wilmont’s management to approve the customer and send a
confirmation to the customer.
• Develop security options for all systems that will safeguard the data as it is stored within your company
and as it is exchanged with DroneTech.
• Develop forms of communications for customers electronically through email, online and mobile alerts
as the customer requests.
• Develop Interface to the DroneTech Corporation for its order entry, delivery confirmation and mobile
application software.
• Create reports for Wilmont’s management to provide information on sales, customer reactions and key
performance indicators that senior management will define.

by taking advantage of this opportunity. This will create a more efficient way for people to receive their
products. By using the old system and having DroneTech use their technology to create a less costly means
of delivery and attract more customers in the area creating more profit. The system will contain a segment
to allow Wilmont’s management to approve the customer’s orders and send confirmation for this service.
The system should provide a means of communication electronically through email and mobile alerts. There
will need to be an Interface to the DroneTech Corporation for its order entry, delivery confirmation and
mobile application software. Wilmont’s will Develop security options for all systems that will safeguard the
data as it is stored within the company, and as it is exchanged with DroneTech. The system modifications will
collect information from the customers who are approved in the San Francisco area allowing them to receive

• Stakeholders will monitor performance by answering what volumes of data and transactions should the
system be capable of handling? How many simultaneous users should the system be designed to handle?
What is the projected growth rate in the number of users? What type of equipment will the system run on?
How fast must the response time be for different aspects of the system under different circumstances?
• Ensure that the system is able to function under normal conditions for Reliability
• Ensure that the system has Maintainability

INITIAL SUMMARY OF RISKS AND MITIGATION APPROACHES

1.12 RISKS
• Using existing system

• System must communicate with other infrastructure system across internet
