Unit 12 SWOT Analysis
STRENGTHS
 Collaborating with others – I
discussed ideas and
developments with peers and
had planned with them in our
own rehearsals.
 Exploring Subtext – I make use
of the text to plan the
emotions and vocals of
characters to portray them to
my audience.
 Characterisation – I have
learned how to take risks and
step out of my comfort zone
and this presented strong
characters with powerful
relationships. I can also get in
character by practicing their
levels of movement through
Laban Efforts.
 Rehearsing independently – I
use my targets and calendar to
plan my own rehearsals for
using skills and developing
characters.
 Documenting - I continue to
update my website with self-
evaluations, research and
recorded rehearsals.
 Problem Solving – I use targets
and skills in rehearsals to solve
problems and this can be seen
highlighted in my self-
evaluations.
 Planning with a Performing
Style – I can make use of
Stanislavski’s system by
exploring the Emotional
Journey before developing
characters.
WEAKNESSES
 Maintaining my use of
Accents – While
performing, I notice
moments when my accent
changes into my own, a
different Northern region
or a different accent
altogether.
 Use of some techniques not
strong enough - There were
some skills that I could
have practiced more of in
rehearsals like my
character’s Memories and
Backstory.
 Using too many skills – I
tried to use all my learning
and performing skills, but I
couldn’t focus on all of
them while developing my
characters because there
were too many.
 Planning Research - I had
researched a wide range of
techniques that I didn’t use
them all effectively and I
didn’t plan how I would use
context after researching it.
 Small range of editing skills
– I had only trimmed and
ordered the lines in our
duologue and could have
used different platforms to
make use of editing radio
plays.
  Responding to Feedback – I
take note of peer and tutor
feedback to use for improving
my performance in rehearsals.
 Using Previous Learning – I
made use of learning from
previous projects that had
supported my use of Inner
Motive Forces and
Characterisation.
OPPORTUNITIES
 Researching Techniques – I
could plan how I could use
performing techniques through
different points of research.
 Practicing accent – I could use
tutorials and vocal qualities to
practice my accent with.
 Planning range of skills - I could
plan what skills I could use for
creating and performing a
character.
 Upskilling Editing – I could
research new editing skills and
practice them on different
editing platforms.
 Rehearsals – I can continue to
use rehearsals for using
research, developing skills and
targets, and practicing
characterisation.
Target What is it that I want to achieve?
1 Maintain Northern accent
for characters.
THREATS
 Having conflicting ideas - I
could neglect several
techniques and ideas due
to focusing on a different
target.
 Procrastination - I could get
distracted from my work
and this can slow me down
and affect my professional
practice.
 Untidy layout of website - I
could keep rearranging
videos and images in a
group format between
subjects, making my
evidenced work difficult to
navigate.
How am going to achieve this?
I will listen to Northern accent
tutorials, rehearse it with a tone
and pitch that I can use and speak
with it every day for Cartwright’s
characters. Due 15/2/21

I will look back through all the
performing skills that I have
learned and choose ones that I am
confident with and can practise
with while building characters in

the setting and context of
Cartwright through characters and
presentations. For techniques, I
will research ones that I want to
improve and demonstrate my use
of them through documents and
recordings. Due 31/4/21

experimenting with them on
