An Article (a strong or persuasive opinion with facts to back it up):

The British thirst for colonizing the world and making it Britain’s subject came from its own

scars of being owned by Rome for almost 400 years. The British were dominated for so long that

they needed to take revenge and show the world that it would not be a territory filled with weak

and scared citizens who kissed the feet of other nations. It all began when the Roman Emperor,

Julias Cesar, in 55 BC, started a relentless attack against the native Britons called the Celts

(British Warriors vs Roman Invaders - A History of Celtic Britain - Episode 3 - Preview - BBC

Two, 2011, 03:15-05:21). It took over almost a one-hundred years for the Romans to conquer the

land they called Brittania (Wikipedia contributors, 2021). The Roman persistence and

organization taught the Britons that if one tries hard, anything can be accomplished. Throughout

the Roman occupation, Britons learned about commerce, democracy, military strategy, and

technological advances. Without the Roman invasion, Great Britain would never have become

the dominating world power it was and still is today.

A letter or email

Emperor Julias Cesar:

I would like to personally thank you for starting the colonization process of the great modern-day

nation of the United Kingdom. The Roman persistence and organization taught us Britons that if

one tries hard, anything can be accomplished. Throughout the Roman occupation, Britons

learned about commerce, democracy, military strategy, and technological advances (Wikipedia

contributors, 2021). Without the Roman invasion, the United Kingdom would never have

become the dominating world power it was and still is today.

Your vision and power were incredibly insightful. Although today we do not follow your

religious beliefs of having more than one god, we still believe our ruler, Queen Elizabeth II, has

a divine right to sit at her throne today (The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica, n.d.). Humans

of such foresight and bravery should always be leading the average everyday citizen.

Once again, I am obliged to be grateful for your conquest and humbled by your wisdom.

Sincerely,
