Chapter 15. Measuring Tools QTO Measurement Tools are displayed vertically to the left of the drawing panel and contain the tools required for measurement of drawings. These are displayed when a drawing is opened and will be different for 2D and 3D drawings. © |] Calibrate toot Use this tool to calibrate QTO to the scale of the drawing using 2 known points (a drawing can only have one scale, and this only needs to be done once). | Counter toot Use this tool to count items such as windows, doors, openings, manholes. P| Length Tool Use the length tool! for linear measurements such as drainage trenches, pipework, and perimeter work in general ‘Segment Tool ‘The Segment tool has the same functions as the length tool the only difference is the segment you only need to click on the line you would like to measure and QTO will pick up where it starts and end and measure the length for you | Area Toot Use the Area Tool for measurement of an area, ‘Area Selector Tool Use the Area Selector Tool to select 2 lines that form an area you would like to measure Note: This tool is still under development and not yet available to users. gi | AreToo! Use the Arc tool for measurement of circular work. Select the start point of the curve, the end point and then any other point on the curve - this will give the length of the arc or circumference and area of the segment or circle Ruler Tool Use the Ruler tool for quick length checks.
