SYMBOLS ON PACKEGING

Green Dot symbol found on the product packaging represents that the producer
of that packaging has forwarded the recycling responsibility of that packaging to
ÇEVKO, according to the regulation regarding the Control of Packaging Waste.

Shows the packaging it’s placed on is made from recyclable material.


Companies that have a code number from the Ministry of Environment and
Urbanization may use the symbol with the way it is shown.
Shows that the product is made from recycled material.

"1" in recycling symbol is showing packaging materials made from polyethylene


terephthalate.
"2" in recycling symbol is showing packaging materials made from high density
polyethylene material.

"3" in recycling symbol is showing packaging materials made from polyvinyl


chloride material.

"4" in recycling symbol is showing packaging material's made from low density
polyethylene material.

"5" in recycling symbol is showing packaging material's made


from polypropylene material.

"6" in recycling symbol is showing packaging material's made from polystyrene


material.

"7" in recycling symbol is showing packaging material's made from


material other than the plastic materials listed above.

"20,21,22…39” in recycling symbol is showing that it's made


from paper/cardboard material.
"40,41…49” in recycling showing it's made from a metal material.

"70,71,72...79” in recycling showing that it's made from glass.

Contains explosives.

Contains oxidizing agents.

Contains toxic products.

The product contained may cause skin irritation if in contact with the skin.

Contains product that may cause respiratory tract infection.

Must not be released into the wild after usage. Contains environmentally
hazardous product.

This symbol is placed on packaging containing toxic materials using an


embossing effect for the visually impaired.

Symbol shows that the product is qualified according to Russian national


standards.
Compostable product according to EN 13432.

Used when 20% - 75% of councils have household recycling collection facilities
for that packaging type in their area.

Waste electrical items – from household appliances to mobile phones to IT


equipment – can be recycled if you see this symbol.

Dispose of this carefully and thoughtfully. Do not litter. This doesn’t relate to
recycling, but is a reminder to be good citizen, disposing od the item in the most
appropriate manner.
The item is made of recyclable aluminum.

The Forest Stewardship Council logo identifies products which contain wood
from well managed forests independently certified.

Please dispose of glass bottle and jars in a bottle bank (but remember to separate
colors) or use your household recycling collection if you have one.

To be given the National Association of Paper Merchants’ mark, paper or board


must be made from a minimum of 50%, 75% or 100% genuine waste paper
and/or board fiber, no part of which should contain mill produced waste fiber.
The product is made of recyclable steel.

This symbol reminds those handling the package to keep out of the rain and not
to store it in damp conditions. It is normally found on card based packages.
The broken wine glass suggests that the product inside the packaging could be
easily damaged if dropped or handled without care and attention.

The two hands holding or protecting the package is another reminder that the
contents should be handled with care.

The symbol seen opposite tells those handling the package that it must be stored
the right way up. The arrows point towards the top of the package.

The symbol showing the thermometer is found mainly on packages containing


food and drink. The symbol clearly shows that the contents should be stored at a
temperature between 10 and 20 degrees (centigrade).
The telephone attached to the letter ‘Q’ means that if you are not happy with the
quality of the product/package contents can ring a customer services number.

Customer satisfaction symbol.

The vegetarian symbol has a ‘tick’ in its center. This means that the contents are
suitable for vegetarians to eat.

This symbol suggests that the consumer should be aware that the product could
contain wheat, gluten, sulphites, traces of nut or it has been made in a factory that
uses nut ingredients
The ‘gluten free’ symbol means that the product inside the packaging does not
contain wheat extracts. Some people are sensitive or even allergic to such
extracts. Therefore, clear labelling is required.
Ingredients symbol. This is often placed alongside the list of ingredients.

The Ecolabel is a scheme managed by the European Union. It was established in


1992 and aims to promote products and services that are environmentally
friendly. Companies and businesses that use this symbol / label have shown
consistently, that they sell products and services that conserve the environment.
