Detailed Lesson Plan in English 2

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson students are expected to:
a. Identify words with opposite meaning or antonyms
b. Describe the characters in the story using antonyms.

Topic: Opposite meaning or antonyms with characters “Angela and Angelo”

Reference: K to 12 Let’s Begin Reading in English II pg.490-492

Instructional Materials: Balloons with words, pictures of boy as Angelo, a girl as


Angela, picture of ant, turtle, girl, old man, baby, sad face, happy face, horse,
boy, elephant, cotton candy, rock, white and black cat, open and close eyes,
manila paper, cartolina, ash, pikachu, Mickey mouse, Minnie mouse, Angel,
stitch.

5. Drill (Spelling)

“Now class, let’s play a game called “Spell the

1. Presentation

“Today, we will have a short story.

But before we start, what are the things


we need to remember when we are
listening to a story?

I think everybody is ready, so let’s find


out if the twins Angela and Angelo have
the same characteristics.

One day, in a small town, twin babies


were born named Angela and Angelo.
Angela is a girl and Angelo is a boy.
Although, they are twins, they still have
differences when it comes to their
characteristics. Angela has a straight
hair, quiet, short, fat and an industrious
child, while Angelo has curly hair,
talkative, tall, thin and a lazy child.
When their birthday came, Angela was
very happy because of many gifts that
she had received, while Angelo was very
sad because no one gave him a gift.
Since, Angela did not want to see her
brother sad she decided to share all the
gifts to her brother. Angelo was so glad
because of Angela’s kindness to him.
Since then, he became a good son and a
good brother too. He also learned to
study hard in the school and then he
received a medal at the end of the school
