Step I: Prepare Work Station:


1. Prepare workstation:
 Use ONLY OETIKER certified pneumatic and/or
manual pliers, see figure 2.
 Stage parts - see photos & BOM

2. Sleeve assembly

 Slide the sleeve onto


the tube and over the
end of the tube,
Figures 4,5.

 Align the Notch (non-


perforated zone) in
the sleeve with the
groove in the tube.

 Note that the 50 mm


non-perforated section
is located over the
inlet hole. See

3. Align sleeve, set & crimp


BEAD clamp:

 Center sleeve stretched over


PP tube so that it is flush on the
threaded end, Figure 8.

 Set the OETIKER Clamp on
both ends, Figures 9,10.

 Make sure clamp located
proper behind the bead and is
not partially sitting on bead
before crimping! Figure 8
shows the bead.

 Check for proper alignment.


The non-perforated area and
the notch must be aligned with
the groove. The crimp part of
the clamp is also aligned with
Figure 10 them and then crimped, Figures
10,11.

 Crimp using ONLY Oetiker
Crimping tools. Other tools may
not crimp the clamp enough.

 Check if clamp is properly


aligned behind bead and if fully
crimped

 Fold over the sleeve ends!

How To Remove Clamps:


1) NEVER TWIST THE CLAMPS OFF AS THIS COULD
CUT THE RUBBER.
2) With a pair of pincers (side cutters or side dikes can also be
used), lift up and bend the tab on the Oetiker clamp

3) Lift end of clamp Lift end up and pull back

4) Pull back end of clamp and remove. Do NOT twist.

How To Install New Clamps:


1) Inspect the rubber. If it is not cut, slide the new clamp
onto the sleeve in place of the old clamp.

2)Crimp clamp into place.


Apply force until ratchet
releases. The crimp may
not be completely closed,
but it should be tight on
the sleeve.

3) Fold ends over.
