The Istiqlal Mosque


Although Jakarta is the modern city which is filled with the building glass, it still has
historical building with beautiful architecture, namely the Istiqlal Mosque. Worship house of
Muslims, this magnificent has long time been one of Jakarta towers. Sturdy stands on area of
5.9 hectares and a capacity of up to 8.000 people, the work of architect Indonesia mosque, F.
Silaban, had been the largest in Southeast Asia, and the pride of Islam and the Indonesian
capital. Since it was constructed in the early days of proclamation, the Istiqlal mosque has
indeed showed independence, according to the meaning of the name it bears.
The Istiqlal Mosque has a huge white tower that looks like a ball cut in half. Like other
landmarks in the world, the Istiqlal mosque is also equipped with a tower whose height
describes the number of verses on the Holy Qur’an. A giant drum part adds to the beauty of
this mosque. The size is very large, crowned drum as the drum is the largest in Indonesia.

Last Friday, I came late to school because I played a football game on the Play Station

day I did not do.
Usually I went to school by my bicycle, but I guessed that it needed to take much time.
So, I decided to take a public transportation. Unfortunately, I got stuck in the traffic jam and I
arrived at 7.30 am. I ran to my class, but I saw my teacher had stood in the front of the class
to teach. My teacher was angry to me because I came late.
It was my bad experience and I hope I would not play a football game on the Play
Station until the early morning again. I got a regret.

When he was awakened by a tiny Mouse running across his body, a mighty Lion was

The Little Mouse heard the Lion and ran to see what was wrong. As soon as he
