Beam (n): A ray or shaft of light.
Bitmap (n): The digital information which, using ones and zeros, describes a digital

Comparable (adj.): Of equivalent quality; worthy of comparison.
Convert (v): To change from one form to another.
Correspond (v) to: 1. To match or be similar or equal.

Describe (v): To give an account in words of (someone or something), including all the
relevant characteristics, qualities, or events.
Determine (v): To cause (something) to occur in a particular way; be the decisive factor
in.
Differentiate (v): To recognize or ascertain what makes (someone or something)
different.
Distinguish (v): To perceive or point out a difference.
Drum (n): 1. A musical instrument sounded by being struck with sticks or the hands,
typically cylindrical, barrel-shaped with a taut membrane over one or both
ends.
2. A rotating cylindrical part in a machine.
Extreme (adj.): Reaching a high or the highest degree; very great.
Flexible (adj.): Able to be easily modified to respond to altered circumstances or
conditions.
Frame (n): A structural system that supports other components of a physical
construction.
Intensity (n): 1. In physics, intensity is the power transferred per unit area, where the
area is measured on the plane perpendicular to the direction of
propagation of the energy.

Obvious (adj.): Easily perceived or understood; clear, self-evident, or apparent.
Pattern (n): 1. A repeated decorative design.
2. A model or design used as a guide in needlework and other crafts.
Photocopier (n): A machine that makes copies of documents and other visual images
onto paper or plastic film quickly and cheaply.
Prepress (n): Relation to typesetting, page layout, and other work done on a publication
before it is actually printed.
Primary (adj.): 1. First in order of time or development.

Primary colors: One of the three colors, red, yellow, and blue, that can be mixed
together in different ways to make any other color.
Productivity (n): The effectiveness of productive effort, especially in industry, as
measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input.
Range (n): The extent to which or the limits between which variation is possible.

Transition (n): The process or a period of changing from one state or condition to
another.
Translate (v): 1. To express the sense of (words or text) in another language.
2. To move from one place or condition to another.
Scan (v): 1. To look at all parts of (something) carefully in order to detect some feature.
2. To cause (a surface, object, or part of the body) to be traversed by a
detector or an electromagnetic beam.
Scan (n): An image formed by scanning something.
Scanner (n): 1. A device that scans documents and converts them into digital data.
2. (Medicine): A machine that examines the body through the use of
radiation, ultrasound, or magnetic resonance imaging, as a diagnostic aid.
Drum scanner: A form of document scanner where the original document to be
scanned is wrapped around a drum and then scanned by moving the detector head
longitudinally as the drum is rotated.
Flatbed scanner: A flatbed scanner is an optical scanner which makes use of a flat
surface for scanning documents.
Slide (v): To move along a smooth surface while maintaining continuous contact with it.

Volume (n): 1. The amount of space that is contained within an object or solid shape.
2. The level of sound produced by a television, radio, etc.
